I am impressed with the team work between the different clubs and departments here on the Moun- tain; you should all be very proud of the culture of service you have established and deliver to the mem- bership and your fellow teammates. I've enjoyed the opportunity to work each day with Chef de Cuisine, Alex Ochs. Alex always has an awesome attitude and is ready to do whatever it takes to deliver the ultimate experience to our members and employees. Alex is a great example of consistent, superlative service. If the dishwasher is slammed, Alex is there helping out, if the line is super busy, Alex gets right in and helps his team pull off a successful service period. Alex helps our Servers and Server Assis- tants whenever possible so they can be on the floor serving members. He also makes it a priority to visit with tables and make members feel welcome. Alex fosters a great work environment between the front of the house and kitchen, always with that classic Alex smile. Thank you, Alex, for being a great example and mentor to your team. -Shawn Chappel, Interim OLW Restaurant Manager This past week I had been planning for a prospective member to visit DM and receive a tour of the amenities. This couple was extremely interested in Tennis and re- quested to meet Matt Wooldridge, Dir of Tennis, Spa & Fitness. Matt and I worked to- gether to plan an "experience” they would not forget! They were to ar- rive on Friday at 10am for the tour. Friday morning my little guy was not feeling well and a sitter was not an option. With great remorse I was going to have to postpone my tour. Upon contacting Matt he gladly stepped in and offered to meet with the guests in my absence. Matt answered their many questions and was kind enough to show them around a couple of the amenities, as well as guide them up to Apache for lunch! While at Sonoran, Matt in- vited the couple to join him on Sun- day to play a little tennis as well! I was able to join them for lunch at Apache and they could not stop talking about what a wonderful time they had with Matt that morning. This couple could not be more im- pressed with the staff at DM. Nu- merous times throughout the week- end they raved about how friendly and accommodating everyone was! Thank you, Matt, for assisting me with what I am sure will be our newest members! -Nicole Forbes Member Relations Mgr Last weekend, during Christophe’s absence, the leadership and commitment of Jermain Baird, Dir of Restaurants, was over- whelming. Jermain always seemed to be at the right place at the right time, to lend a hand. Jermain opened Renegade while Bernie was off for the weekend and he stayed late each night to provide support during dinner service at Apache and Constan- tino’s. Long hours are just a small example of Jermain’s commitment to excellence. Over the past week, he has had to coordinate coverage for multiple outlets, as our seasonal staff have left us short in some areas. Jermain embodies Desert Mountain’s core values; his Teamwork, Spirit to Serve, all while having Fun, is a great example to everyone. -Josh Gilchrist, APH Rest Mgr, Bill Sychtysz, CHIR Rest Mgr & Bernie Gonzalez, REN Rest Mgr $25
