Students Battle Robots is a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) one-day action filled activity, where students put into practice STEM. Each student whether a first time robot builder or a veteran Roboticist will build, re-design and improve their own robot to compete as a gladiator in a Gladiators Arena with up to 7 other robots. After each initial match, they will take the feedback of the competition and modify, strengthen or re-design their robot, to make it the ultimate winner in the play-offs. There will be ribbons awarded for the winners of the Battle and the Best looking robots.Presenter: Michael Hayes, President, STEM Science and Robotics Partners, Inc.

This is a unique opportunity for Students to learn the basics of Flying Drones in a single day. Students will learn things like Pitch, Yaw, Control, Trim and a wide variety of other Aeronautical experiences, by flying drones themselves. To start - in the morning every team will load the Lumi AP on their shared SMARTPHONE and power up the LUMI Drone. At his point, teams will begin a rotation to learn different skills on the Obstacle course. Beginners will have special help with our uniquely applied smart technology that helps first time flyers learn the ropes and start basic exercises in a course of 4 to 6 challenges - obstacles. These will allow the students to experience different aspects of flying drones and control them in a safe and controlled environment. The SER Wal-Mart Customer Service Training program’s prepares low-income job seekers through low-cost, short-term jobs skills training to be able to qualify and compete for entry-level positions in the demand occupations found in their respective labor force areas, such as the retail and customer service fields. This program proposes a further reaching, more intensive work readiness program that will prepare participants with recognized industry credentials to address the shift to service-based industries.
