The employment rate in April 2014 is estimated at 93.0 percent. This estimate is based on
the April 2014 round of the !" #hich did not co$er the pro$ince of eyte. The employment
rate for the same month of 2013, computed usin% data from the April 2013 !" thatincludes the pro$ince of eyte, #as 92.& percent. 'sin% data from the same !" round, but
e(cludin% data from the pro$ince of eyte, the employment rate for April 2013 is estimated
at 92.4 percent. !or this report, the April 2013 labor and employment indicators, computed
based on data #hich e(cludes the pro$ince of eyte, are used #hen comparin% the April
2014 estimates #ith the April 2013 fi%ures.
!our re%ions, namely, )ational *apital +e%ion )*+ 9./, locos +e%ion 90.,
*AAA+) 91.0, and *entral u5on 91.4 had employment rates lo#er than the
national fi%ure. The labor force participation rate !6+ in April 2014 is estimated at /&.2percent, up from the !6+ in April 2013 #hich #as estimated at /3. percent. The labor
force consists of the employed and the unemployed.
7or8ers are %rouped into three broad sectors, namely, a%riculture, industry and ser$ices
sector. 7or8ers in the ser$ices sector continued to comprise the lar%est proportion of the
population #ho are employed. These #or8ers made up &2. percent of the total employed

underemployed persons. They accounted for /1.0 percent of the total underemployed in
April 2014 Table 4. The proportion in the same month of 2013 #as lo#er &3.. y
comparison, the underemployed persons #ho #or8ed for 40 hours or more in a #ee8 made
up 3/.4 percent. y sector, 41.3 percent of the underemployed #or8ed in the a%riculture
sector, #hile 40.9 percent #ere in the ser$ices sector. Those in the industry sector
accounted for 1. percent Table 4.
The unemployment rate in April 2014 is estimated at .0 percent. t is estimated at ./
percent for April 2013 based on the April 2013 !" data #hich e(cludes eyte. ncludin%
eyte, the April 2013 unemployment rate is estimated at .& percent. Amon% the re%ions,
