EMSWORTH MTI HEALTH-CHECK – A SHORT HISTORY:

2005 - Emsworth Food Festival and 30-month survey started to establish likes and dislikes about the town.

2007 – Action Plan developed with support of Hampshire County and Havant Borough Councils and broken into four main categories:

Local economy and visitorsCommunity hall inadequate and no visitor centreRe-generation programme for more shops and homesIncreased contact with Military neighbours led to

St George’s Week, Parade, Music FestivalMuseum and PG Wodehouse connections to be

exploited

Emsworth’s strategic bus route poorly served with shelters – now all but one stop have bus shelters along the A259

Town centre bus shelter/war memorial “tired” and vandalised

Emsworth Train Station run down with poor access for those with disabilities
