Esmeralda, I’ve been feeling down lately and getting angry very easily.

I don’t feel comfortable talking about this because I have to be strong, but what can I do?

Who can I turn to, to help me figure out what’s wrong with me?

I want to be well for you and the children.

You shouldn’t be ashamed to talk about these things, Carlos.

Your Uncle Emilio went through something similar five years ago and found the right kind of help through his doctor.

We should make an appointment with Doctor Paz.

I would like it if you could come with me. I will call Doctor Paz right away.

It’s good to have a wife like you, Esmeralda.

I’ll go to the doctor with you.

That sounds like a good idea.

Brief periods of feeling sad are normal. However, when such feelings persist for more than two weeks...and the mood impairs your ability to function at work or socially, you may be suffering from depression.

He’ll know what to do, and he should be able to refer us to the right people who are trained to diagnose and treat this.

Oh honey. How long have you been feeling this way?

It’s been a little over a week now.
