Step 1: Connecting the Video, Keyboard, and Mouse to the

CONSOLE Ports and Computers on the KVM Switch

This booklet is a quick guide through the basic steps needed toinstall the SOHO Series USB KVM Switch (the KVM Switch). If youhave any problems during installation, please refer to the SOHOSeries USB KVM Switch User Manual.

You will need the following items to install the KVM Switch:• SOHO Series USB KVM Switch

• One (each) USB keyboard, monitor, and USB mouse

• One VGA and USB KVM cable per computer installed

• One 9-volt DC, 1A power supply adapter

• Optional—audio cables (3.5mm plugs) for speakers and microphone installation

Installing the KVM Switch Base

1. Power down your computers.

2. Remove the rear panel of the KVM Switch to expose the ports. (Fig. 1)

3. Connect your USB keyboard and USB mouse to the CONSOLE ports on your KVM Switch. (Fig. 2)

4. Take the video cable that is attached to your monitor and connect it to the CONSOLE video port on your KVM Switch. (Fig. 3)

Step 2: Powering up the KVM Switch

1. Connect the included 9-volt DC, 1A power supply unit into an available power outlet.

2. Attach the barrel into the power jack on the KVM Switch to power the unit. The LEDs should illuminate. (Fig. 4)

Step 3: Connecting the Computers to the KVM Switch

1. Power up the computers. Once the operating system has loaded,connect the USB KVM cable from your computer’s USB port to the USB port on the KVM Switch. The operating system will automaticallyinstall the KVM Switch. Do this for all USB connections. (Fig. 5)

2. Shut down your computer. Take the VGA cable and connect the maleend of the cable to the VGA port on the back of the computer. Connectthe female end of the VGA cable to the back of the KVM Switch forCPU1. Do this for all computers. (Fig. 5)

2. Connect one audio cable from the computer’s audio-output port to theaudio port labeled “SPKR IN” to the appropriate port on the KVMSwitch. Do the same for the microphone connection. (Fig. 7)

3. Power on your connected computers.

You are now ready to use your KVM Switch.

Étape 2 : Mise sous tension du Switch KVM

1. Branchez le bloc d'alimentation 9 VCC/1 A fourni sur une prise secteur.

2. Branchez la fiche dans la prise d'alimentation du Switch KVM pour alimenter l'appareil. Les témoins doivent s'allumer. (Fig. 4)

Étape 3 : Branchement des ordinateurs sur le Switch KVM

1. Mettez les ordinateurs sous tension. Une fois le système d'exploitationchargé, branchez le câble KVM USB provenant du port USB del'ordinateur sur le port USB du Switch KVM. Le système d'exploitationinstalle automatiquement le Switch KVM. Effectuez cette opération pourtoutes les connexions USB. (Fig. 5)

2. Mettez votre ordinateur hors tension. Branchez l'extrémité mâle ducâble VGA sur le port VGA situé à l'arrière de l'ordinateur. Branchezl'extrémité femelle du câble VGA à l'arrière du boîtier de commutationKVM sur le port CPU1. Effectuez cette opération pour tous lesordinateurs. (Fig. 5)

Installieren des KVM-Umschalter-Fußes


Schritt 2: Einschalten des KVM-Umschalters

1. Schließen Sie das beigefügte Gleichstromnetzteil (9 V; 1 A) an eine freie Steckdose an.

2. Stecken Sie den runden Stecker in die Netzteilbuchse des KVM-Umschalters, damit er mit Strom versorgt wird. Jetzt müssten die LEDs aufleuchten. (Abb. 4)

3. Schließen Sie Ihre USB-Tastatur und USB-Maus an die KONSOLEN-Schnittstellen Ihres KVM-Umschalters an. (Abb. 2)

4. Schließen Sie das Bildschirmkabel Ihres Monitors an die KONSOLEN-Grafikschnittstelle Ihres KVM-Umschalters an. (Abb. 3)

Schritt 3: Anschließen der Computer an den KVM-Umschalter

1. Fahren Sie die Computer hoch. Verbinden Sie nach dem Laden des Betriebssystems die USB-Schnittstelle Ihres Computers und die USB-Schnittstelle des KVM-Umschalters mit dem USB-KVM-Kabel. Das Betriebssystem installiert den KVM-Umschalter automatisch. Gehen Sie bei allen weiteren USB-Verbindungen ebenso vor. (Abb. 5)

2. Schalten Sie den Computer aus. Verbinden Sie den Stecker des VGA-Kabels mit der VGA-Schnittstelle an der Computerrückseite. VerbindenSie die Buchse des VGA-Kabels mit dem Anschluss CPU1 an derRückseite Ihres KVM-Umschalters. Gehen Sie bei allen weiterenComputern ebenso vor. (Abb. 5)

Stap 2: De stroomvoorziening van de KVM-switch

1. Sluit de meegeleverde 9 V/1A-voedingsadapter aan op een vrij stopcontact.

2. Sluit de busstekker aan op de voedingsingang op de KVM-switch om de unit van stroom te voorzien. De LED's zouden nu moeten gaan branden. (Afb. 4)

3. Sluit uw USB-toetsenbord en USB-muis aan op de CONSOLE-poorten op uw KVM-switch. (Afb. 2)

4. Neem de videokabel die aan uw monitor is bevestigd en sluit deze aanop de CONSOLE videopoort op uw KVM-switch. (Afb. 3)

Stap 4: Audioapparatuur en microfoon aansluiten—Optioneel

1. Sluit de luidsprekers en de microfoon aan op het CONSOLE-deel van uw KVM-switch. (Afb. 6)

Stap 3: De computers op de KVM-switch aansluiten

1. Schakel de stroom naar de computers in. Nadat het besturingssysteem is geladen, sluit u de USB-poort van uw computer met behulp van de USB-KVM-kabel aan op de USB-poort op de KVM-switch. Hetbesturingssysteem zal de KVM-switch nu automatisch installeren.Herhaal dit voor alle USB-verbindingen. (Afb. 5)

2. Schakel uw computer uit. Neem de VGA-kabel en sluit de male-zijdevan de kabel aan op de VGA-poort aan de achterzijde van de computer.Sluit de female-zijde van de VGA-kabel aan op de achterzijde van deKVM-switch voor CPU1. Herhaal dit voor alle computers. (Afb. 5)

1. Conecte los altavoces y el micrófono a la sección CONSOLA de su conmutador KVM (teclado/pantalla/ratón). (Fig. 6)

Paso 3: cómo conectar los ordenadores al conmutador KVM (teclado/pantalla/ratón)

1. Encienda los ordenadores. Una vez que el sistema operativo se ha car-gado, conecte un cable USB KVM (teclado/pantalla/ratón) desde elpuerto USB de su ordenador al puerto USB del conmutador KVM. El sistema operativo instalará el conmutador KVM (teclado/pantalla/ratón) de modo automático. Realice el mismo procedimiento para todaslas conexiones USB. (Fig. 5)

2. Apague el ordenador. Conecte el enchufe macho del cable VGA al puerto VGA de la parte trasera del ordenador. Conecte el enchufehembra del cable VGA a la parte trasera del conmutador KVM (teclado/pantalla/ratón) para la CPU1. Haga lo mismo con todos los ordenadores. (Fig. 5)

Installazione della base dello switch KVM


Fase 2: Accendere lo switch KVM

1. Collegare l’adattatore di corrente 9 Volt DC, 1A ad una presa di alimentazione disponibile.

2. Inserire la spina nella presa di alimentazione dello switch KVM per accendere l’unità. I LED di alimentazione dovrebbero accendersi. (Fig. 4)

3. Collegare la tastiera e il mouse USB alle porte della CONSOLE sullo switch KVM. (Fig. 2)

4. Prendere il cavo del video che è collegato al monitor e collegarlo alla porta video della CONSOLE dello switch KVM. (Fig. 3)

Fase 4: Collegamento Audio e Microfono—Opzionale

1. Collegare gli speaker e il microfono alla CONSOLE dello switch KVM. (Fig. 6)

Fase 3: Collegamento dei computer allo switch KVM

1. Accendere i computer. Una volta caricato il sistema operativo, collegareil cavo KVM USB dalla porta USB del computer alla porta USB delloswitch KVM. Il sistema operativo installerà automaticamente lo SwitchKVM. Ripetere l’operazione per tutte le connessioni USB. (Fig. 5)

2. Spegnere il computer. Prendere il cavo VGA e collegare la spina delcavo alla porta VGA situata sul retro del computer. Collegare la spinadel cavo VGA al retro dello switch KVM per il primo computer. Ripeterel’operazione per tutti i computer. (Fig. 5)
