1.1 Children and vulnerable people safetyWARNING!Risk of suffocation, injury or permanentdisability.

• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8years and above and persons with reduced physical,sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experienceand knowledge if they have been given supervision orinstruction concerning the use of the appliance in asafe way and understand the hazards involved.

• Do not let children play with the appliance.• Children aged 3 years and under must be kept away

from this appliance when it is in operation at all times.• Keep all packaging away from children and dispose of

1.2 General Safety• Do not change the specification of this appliance.• If the tumble dryer is put on top of a washing machine,

use the stacking kit. The stacking kit, available fromyour authorized vendor, can be used only with theappliance specified in the instructions, supplied with

the accessory. Read it carefully before installation(Refer to the Installation leaflet).

• The appliance can be installed as freestanding orbelow the kitchen counter with correct space (Refer tothe Installation leaflet).

• Do not install the appliance behind a lockable door, asliding door or a door with a hinge on the oppositeside, that would prevent the appliance door from beingfully opened.

• The ventilation opening in the base (if applicable) mustnot be covered by a carpet, mat, or any floor covering.

• WARNING: The appliance must not be suppliedthrough an external switching device, such as timer, orconnected to a circuit that is regularly switched on andoff by a utility.

• Connect the mains plug to the mains socket only atthe end of the installation process. Make sure that themains plug is accessible after installation.

• Ensure good air ventilation in the located room toavoid the backflow of unwanted gases into the roomfrom appliances burning gas or other fuels, includingopen fires.

• Exhaust air must not be discharged into a flue which isused for exhausting fumes from any appliancesburning gas or other fuels.

• If the mains power supply cable is damaged, it mustbe replaced by the manufacturer, its AuthorisedService Centre or similarly qualified persons to avoidan electrical hazard.

• Do not exceed the maximum load of 7 kg (refer to the"Programme chart" chapter).

• Do not use the appliance if items have been soiledwith industrial chemicals.

• Wipe away lint or packaging debris that hasaccumulated around the appliance.

• Do not run the appliance without a filter. Clean the lintfilter before or after each use.

• Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer.• Items that have been soiled with substances such as

cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spotremovers, turpentine, waxes and wax removersshould be washed in hot water with an extra amount ofdetergent before being dried in the tumble dryer.

• Items such as foam rubber (latex foam), shower caps,waterproof textiles, rubber backed articles and clothesor pillows fitted with foam rubber pads should not bedried in the tumble dryer.

• Fabric softeners, or similar products, should only beused as specified by the product manufacturer’sinstructions.

• Remove all objects from items that could be a sourceof fire ignition such as lighters or matches.

• Never stop a tumble dryer before the end of the dryingcycle unless all items are quickly removed and spreadout so that the heat is dissipated.

• The final part of a tumble dryer cycle occurs withoutheat (cool down cycle) to ensure that the items are leftat a temperature that ensures that the items will not bedamaged.

• Before any maintenance operation, deactivate theappliance and disconnect the mains plug from thesocket.

2. CONDITIONS OF USEThis appliance is intended to be used inhousehold and similar applications suchas:• Farm houses

• By clients in serviced apartments,holiday apartments and otherresidential type environments.

3. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS3.1 Installation• Remove all the packaging.• Do not install or use a damaged

appliance.• Follow the installation instruction

supplied with the appliance.

• Always take care when moving theappliance as it is heavy. Always usesafety gloves and enclosed footwear.

• Do not install or use the appliancewhere the temperature can be lessthan 5°C or higher than 35°C.

• The floor area where the appliance isto be installed must be flat, stable,heat resistant and clean.

• Make sure that there is air circulationbetween the appliance and the floor.

• Always keep the appliance verticalwhen being moved.

• The rear surface of the appliancemust be put against the wall.

• When the appliance is in itspermanent position, check that it isfully level with the aid of a spirit level.If it is not, adjust the feet accordingly.

3.2 Electrical connectionWARNING!Risk of fire and electricalshock.

• The appliance must be earthed.• Make sure that the electrical

information on the rating plate agreeswith the power supply. If not, contactan electrician.

• Always use a correctly installedshockproof socket.

• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.

• Do not pull the mains cable todisconnect the appliance. Always pullthe mains plug.

• Do not touch the mains cable or themains plug with wet hands.

• This appliance complies with theE.E.C. Directives.

3.3 UseWARNING!Risk of injury, electricalshock, fire, burns or damageto the appliance.

• Do not dry the damaged items whichcontain padding or fillings.

• Only dry fabrics which are applicableto dry in the tumble dryer. Follow theinstructions on the fabric label.

• If you have washed your laundry witha stain remover start an extra rinsecycle before you start the dryer.

• Do not drink or prepare food with thecondensed water/distilled water. It can

cause health problems to people andpets.

• Do not sit or stand on the open door.• Do not dry dripping wet clothes in the

tumble dryer.• Oil-affected items can ignite

spontaneously, especially whenexposed to heat sources such as in atumble dryer. The items becomewarm, causing an oxidation reactionin the oil. Oxidation creates heat. Ifthe heat cannot escape, the items canbecome hot enough to catch fire.Piling, stacking or storing oil-affecteditems can prevent heat from escapingand create a fire hazard.

• If it is unavoidable that fabrics thatcontain vegetable or cooking oil orhave been contaminated by hair careproducts be placed in a tumble dryerthey should first be washed in hotwater with extra detergent -this willreduce, but not eliminate, the hazard.

3.4 Care and cleaningWARNING!Risk of injury or damage tothe appliance.

• Do not use water spray and steam toclean the appliance.

• Clean the appliance with a moist softcloth. Only use neutral detergents. Donot use any abrasive products,abrasive cleaning pads, solvents ormetal objects.

3.5 CompressorWARNING!Risk of damage to theappliance.

• The compressor and its system in thetumble dryer is filled with the specialagent which is free from fluoro-chloro-hydrocarbons. This system must staytight. The damage of the system cancause a leakage.

3.6 DisposalWARNING!Risk of injury or suffocation.

• Disconnect the appliance from themains electrical and water supplies.

• Cut off the mains electrical cableclose to the appliance and dispose ofit.

• Remove the door catch to preventchildren or pets from becomingtrapped in the drum.

• Dispose of the appliance inaccordance with local requirementsfor the disposal of Waste Electricaland Electronic Equipment (WEEE).

7. OPTIONS7.1 Time This option is applicable only to the TimeDrying programme. You can set theprogramme duration, from a minimum of10 minutes to a maximum of 2 hours.The setting of the duration is related tothe quantity of laundry in the appliance.

We recommend that you seta short duration for smallquantities of laundry or foronly one item.

7.2 Delicate With this option you can set a delicatedrying programme that has a lowtemperature. Use this option with afabrics that have the symbol on thefabric label (e.g. acrylic, viscose).

7.3 Buzzer you can hear the buzzer at the:

• cycle end• start and end of crease guard phase• cycle interruptionThe buzzer function is by default alwayson. You can use this function to activateor deactivate the sound.

You can activate the Buzzeroption with all programmes.

8.1 Child lock functionThis option prevents children to play withthe appliance while a programmeoperates. The programme knob and thetouchpads are locked.

Only OFF switch is unlocked.

Activating the child lock option:1. Use the programme knob to set any

programme.2. Wait approximately 8 seconds.3. Press and hold touchpads (A) and

(D) at the same time. The child lockindicator comes on.

The child lock indicator comes on.It is possible to deactivatethe child lock option while aprogramme operates. Pressand hold the sametouchpads until the child lockindicator goes off.

8.2 Adjustment of the remaininglaundry moisture degreeTo change the default degree of theremaining moisture of the laundry:1. Use the programme knob to set any

programme.2. Wait approximately 8 seconds.3. Press and hold buttons (A) and (B) at

the same time.One of the these indicators comes on:

• the maximum dry laundry• the more dry laundry• the standard dry laundry

4. Press the button (E) again and againuntil the indicator of the correct levelcomes on.

5. To confirm the adjustment, press andhold buttons (A) and (B) at the sametime for approximately 2 seconds.

9. BEFORE FIRST USEBefore you use the appliance for the firsttime:• Clean the tumble dryer drum with a

moist cloth.

• Start a short programme (e.g. 30minutes) with moist laundry.

10. DAILY USE10.1 Start a programme withoutdelay start1. Prepare the laundry and load the

appliance.

CAUTION!Make sure that whenyou close the door, thelaundry does not catchbetween the appliancedoor and the rubberseal.

2. Set the correct programme andoptions for the type of load.

The display shows the programmeduration.

The drying time you see isrelated to the load of 5 kg forcotton and jeansprogrammes. For the otherprogrammes the drying timeis related to therecommended loads. Thedrying time of the cotton andjeans programmes with theload more than 5 kg islonger.

3. Press the Start/Pause touchpad.The programme starts.

10.2 Starting the programmewith delay start1. Set the correct programme and

options for the type of load.2. Press the delay start button again

and again until the display shows thedelay time you want to set.

You can delay the startof a programme from aminimum of 30 minutesto a maximum of 20hours.

3. Press the Start/Pause touchpad.The display shows the countdown of thedelay start.When the countdown is completed, theprogramme starts.

10.3 Change a programme1. Turn the Programme knob to OFF2. Set the programme.

10.4 At the end of theprogrammeWhen the programme is completed:

• An intermittent acoustic signaloperates.

• The indicator flashes.• The indicator flashes.• The Start/Pause indicator is on.The appliance continues to operate withthe crease guard phase forapproximately other 30 minutes.The crease guard phase preventscreases from your laundry.You can remove the laundry before thecrease guard phase is completed. Werecommend, for better results, that youremove the laundry when the phase isalmost completed.When the crease guard phase iscompleted:

• The indicator is on but does notflash.

• The indicator is on but does notflash.

• Start/Pause indicator goes off.

1. Turn the Programme knob to OFF2. Open the appliance door.3. Remove the laundry.4. Close the appliance door.

Always clean the filter andempty the water containerwhen a programme iscompleted.

10.5 Stand-by functionTo decrease the energy consumption,this function automatically deactivatesthe appliance:• After 5 minutes if you do not start the

programme.• After 5 minutes from the end of the

programme.

11. HINTS AND TIPS11.1 Preparing the laundry• Close the zippers.• Close the fasteners of duvet covers.

• Do not dry ties or ribbons loose (e.g.apron ribbons). Tie them before youstart a programme.

• Remove all items from pockets.

• If an item has an internal layer madeof cotton, turn it inside out. Make surethat the cotton layer is always facingoutward.

• We recommend that you set a correctprogramme suitable for the type offabrics that are in the appliance.

• Do not put dark colours together withlight colours.

• Use a suitable programme for cotton,jersey and knitwear to preventshrinkage.

• Make sure that the load do notexceeds the maximum load stated inprograms chapter or shown on thedisplay.

• Only dry laundry that is suitable fortumble drying. Refer to the fabric labelon the items.

• Do not dry large and small itemstogether. Small items can be trappedinside the large items and remain wet.

12.4 Cleaning the drumWARNING!Disconnect the appliancebefore you clean it.

Use a standard neutral soap detergent toclean the inner surface of the drum anddrum lifters. Dry the cleaned surfaceswith a soft cloth.

CAUTION!Do not use abrasivematerials or steel wool toclean the drum.

12.5 Cleaning the control paneland housingUse a standard neutral soap detergent toclean the control panel and housing.

Use a moist cloth to clean. Dry thecleaned surfaces with a soft cloth.

CAUTION!Do not use furniture cleaningagents or cleaning agentswhich can cause corrosionto clean the appliance.

12.6 Cleaning the airflow slotsUse a vacuum cleaner to remove flufffrom the airflow slots.

13. TROUBLESHOOTINGProblem Possible solutionYou cannot activate the appliance. Make sure that the mains plug is connec‐

ted to the mains socket.

Check fuse in fuse box (domestic installa‐tion).

The programme does not start. Press Start/Pause.

Make sure that the appliance door isclosed.

The appliance door does not close. Make sure that the installation of the filteris correct.

Make sure that the laundry does notcatch between the appliance door andthe rubber seal.

The appliance stops during operation. Make sure that the water container isempty. Press Start/Pause to start the pro‐gramme again.

The cycle time is too long or unsatisfacto‐ry drying result.1)

Make sure that the weight of the laundryis applicable to the duration of the pro‐gramme.

Make sure that the filter is clean.

The laundry is too wet. Spin the laundryin the washing machine again.

Ensure that the room temperature ishigher than +5°C and lower than +35°C.Optimal room temperature is 19°C to24°C.

Set the Time Drying or the Extra Dry pro‐gramme.2)

The display shows Err. If you want to set a new programme, de‐activate and activate the appliance.

Make sure that the options are applicableto the programme.

The display shows (e.g. E51). Deactivate and activate the appliance.Start a new programme. If the problemoccurs again, contact the Service.

1) After maximum 5 hours, the programme ends automatically.2) It can happen that some area remains humid when drying big items (e.g. bed sheets ).

If the drying results are notsatisfactory• The set programme was incorrect.

• The filter is clogged.• The condenser is clogged.

high ( optimal room temperature 19°Cto 24°C )

f) ‘major failure’ as referred to inclause 10 of this warranty hasthe same meaning referred to inthe ACL and includes a situationwhen an Appliance cannot berepaired or it is uneconomic forElectrolux, at its discretion, torepair an Appliance during theWarranty Period;

g) ‘Warranty Period’ means theAppliance is warranted againstmanufacturing defects inAustralia for 24 months and inNew Zealand for 24 months,following the date of originalpurchase of the Appliance;

h) ‘you’ means the purchaser of theAppliance not having purchasedthe Appliance for re-sale, and‘your’ has a correspondingmeaning.

2. This warranty only applies toAppliances purchased and used inAustralia or New Zealand and usedin normal domestic applications andis in addition to (and does notexclude, restrict, or modify in anyway) any non-excludable statutorywarranties in Australia or NewZealand.

3. During the Warranty PeriodElectrolux or its ASC will, at no extracharge if your Appliance is readilyaccessible for service, withoutspecial equipment and subject tothese terms and conditions, repair orreplace any parts which it considersto be defective. Electrolux or its ASCmay use remanufactured parts torepair your Appliance. You agree thatany replaced Appliances or partsbecome the property of Electrolux.

This warranty does not apply to lightglobes, batteries, filters or similarperishable parts.

4. Parts and Appliances not supplied byElectrolux are not covered by thiswarranty.

5. To the extent permitted by law, youwill bear the cost of transportation,travel and delivery of the Applianceto and from Electrolux or its ASC. Ifyou reside outside of the servicearea, you will bear the cost of:a) travel of an authorised

representative;b) transportation and delivery of the

Appliance to and from Electroluxor its ASC,

In all instances, unless the Applianceis transported by Electrolux or anElectrolux authorised representative,the Appliance is transported at theowner’s cost and risk while in transitto and from Electrolux or its ASC.

6. Proof of purchase is required beforeyou can make a claim under thiswarranty.

7. You may not make a claim under thiswarranty unless the defect claimed isdue to faulty or defective parts orworkmanship. Electrolux is not liablein the following situations (which arenot exhaustive):a) the Appliance is damaged by:

– accident– misuse or abuse, including

failure to properly maintain orservice

– normal wear and tear– power surges, electrical storm

damage or incorrect powersupply

– incomplete or improperinstallation

– incorrect, improper orinappropriate operation

– insect or vermin infestation– failure to comply with any

additional instructionssupplied with the Appliance;

b) the Appliance is modified withoutauthority from Electrolux inwriting;

c) the Appliance’s serial number orwarranty seal has been removedor defaced;

d) the Appliance was serviced orrepaired by anyone other thanElectrolux, an authorised repaireror ASC.

8. This warranty, the contract to which itrelates and the relationship betweenyou and Electrolux are governed bythe law applicable where theAppliance was purchased. Where theAppliance was purchased in NewZealand for commercial purposes theConsumer Guarantee Act does notapply.

9. To the extent permitted by law andsubject to your non excludablestatutory rights and warranties,Electrolux excludes all warrantiesand liabilities (other than ascontained in this document) includingliability for any loss or damagewhether direct or indirect arising fromyour purchase, use or non use of theAppliance.

10. For Appliances and servicesprovided by Electrolux in Australia,the Appliances come with aguarantee by Electrolux that cannotbe excluded under the ACL. You areentitled to a replacement or refundfor a major failure and forcompensation for any otherreasonably foreseeable loss ordamage. You are also entitled tohave the Appliance repaired orreplaced if the Appliance fails to be ofacceptable quality and the failure

does not amount to a major failure.The benefits to you given by thiswarranty are in addition to your otherrights and remedies under a law inrelation to the Appliances or servicesto which the warranty relates.

11. At all times during the WarrantyPeriod, Electrolux shall, at itsdiscretion, determine whether repair,replacement or refund will apply if anAppliance has a valid warranty claimapplicable to it.

12. For Appliances and servicesprovided by Electrolux in NewZealand, the Appliances come with aguarantee by Electrolux pursuant tothe provisions of the ConsumerGuarantees Act, the Sale of GoodsAct and the Fair Trading Act.

13. To enquire about claiming under thiswarranty, please follow these steps:a) carefully check the operating

instructions, user manual and theterms of this warranty;

b) have the model and serialnumber of the Applianceavailable;

c) have the proof of purchase (e.g.an invoice) available;

d) telephone the numbers shownbelow.

14. You accept that if you make awarranty claim, Electrolux and itsASC may exchange information inrelation to you to enable Electrolux tomeet its obligations under thiswarranty
