We read the story of “ Handa’s Surprise” by

The story is about a little girl taking a basket
of fruit to her friends. As she walks along
different animals steal the fruit from her
basket.

We tasted all the different fruits.
Banana, guava, orange, mango, pineapple,
avocado, passion fruit and tangerine.
We set up a shop where the children had to
count the money
to buy the fruit.

The children used 1p coins to count out the
correct amount to buy the fruit.
Ralph is the shopkeeper.
The other children count out the money to buy
the fruit.

Our Fruit and Vegetable Shop.
We set up a fruit and vegetable shop in our
outdoor area. Children were able to use real
coins to purchase the fruit.
