End Of Life Workshop plan

• Facilitators from the MDT were arranged for the stands.

• Invites were sent to all staff.

• Learning points were developed and a quiz was used to encourage staff to engage with the stand facilitators.

• Statistics and points of interest about end of life care were exhibited.

• Prizes sponsored by St Vincent’s Hospital Foundation were awarded.

• NMBI category 1 approval with CEU’s awarded to nursing attendees.

Results

• Staff were given the opportunity to ask

questions about the specifics of care for these

patients and their families.

• This enabled the exchange of ideas and

information between those providing services

and the staff.

• 111 Staff attended the Workshop with several

nurses coming in on their own time.

• 60 completing an evaluation form.

Conclusions

• The drop-in session (with lunch) worked well to

entice staff to attend during their break.

• Suggestions from staff will be incorporated into

the next workshop for January 2017.

• The End Of Life documentation is currently

being rolled out across the hospital by NPD.
