What is the EU General Data Protection Regulation?

• Gives data privacy rights to EU residents related to the use and protection of their personal data.

• Normalizes the different laws across 28 EU countries

• Applies to any organization worldwideprocessing or controlling personal data of EU residents

• Creates potential for substantial fines for non-compliance

• Each EU country has its own enforcement department

• The law becomes enforceable on May 25, 2018
