A species is defined as endangered or threatened when it is suffers from these factors: damage to its habitat for recreational, or entertainment purposes; disease or predation of the species; and hazards to the continued life of the species.

For e.g.- Pangolin, Sumatran Tiger, Hawksbill Turtle, Yangtze Finless Porpoise etc.

Causes of endangerment

Rapid habitat loss is the primary cause of species endangerment. The strongest forces in rapid habitat loss are human beings.

Nearly every region of the earth has been affected by human activity. For e.g.- loss of microbes in tropical forest and the extinction of fishes and aquatic species in polluted habitat.

Habitat Destruction

DEFORESTATION

Native species are those plants and animals that are part of a specific geographic area, and have ordinarily been a part of that particular biological landscape for a lengthy period of time.

They are well adapted to their local environment and are accustomed to the presence of other native species within the same general habitat.

Introduction Of Exotic Species

A species that faces overexploitation is one that may become severely endangered or even extinct due to the rate in which the species is being used.

Due to the trade of animal parts, many species continue to suffer high rates of exploitation.

Even today, there are demands for items such as rhino horns and tiger bones in several areas of Asia.

Overexploitation

Disease, pollution, and limited distribution are more factors that threaten various plant and animal species.

Pollution has seriously affected multiple terrestrial and aquatic species, and limited distribution are frequently a consequence of other threats

Population is also another threat to these species.

I Nandini Yadav have learnt about the topic that the endangered species and which species come in this category.

Endangered species are those species which are decreasing at an alarming rate.

After working on this topic I come to know about their importance. So at last I would like to say that we should try to conserve them.
