Beta cell diathesis exacerbated by obesity & inactivity

Relative hypoinsulinemia

Strong family Hx and Hx gestational diabetes

Overt Diabetes Mellitus

• Fasting plasma glucose ≥ 126 mg/dl

• Casual plasma glucose ≥ 200 mg/dl

• 2hr OGTT plasma glucose ≥ 200 mg/dl
