Key Facts

Traditional GLS Light-bulbs will be phased out

by 2009 in Europe. This is one of many new leg-

islations pushed by the European Union to pro-

gressively reduce the continents carbon foot-

print.

By simply replacing 25 GLS light-bulbs (60

Watt) with 25 equivalent 15 Watt Energy Saving

Lamps, one could make a saving of 551 Swiss

Francs per year.

Using 25 Energy Saving Lamps instead of 25 GLS Lamps would save 1988 kg of harmful

CO2 greenhouse gases being emitted per year.

25 Energy Saving Lamps have the Air Pollution Reduction Power of 1 Acre of Forest.

Energy Saving Lamps produce 75% less heat than traditional GLS Light-bulbs. This

Key Facts

We offer a comprehensive range of compact fluores-

cent lamps including the Dual compact fluorescent

lamp. The dual type consists of a compact fluores-cent lamp with separate ballast which can be fitted

directly on mains voltage with an adapter (available in

screw of bayonet base fittings). The electronic adapter

lasts 4 to 5 times longer than the lamp. This saves

money and reduces small chemical waste.

Consumes 80% less energy than an equivalent GLS

lamp.

Our Dual Compact Fluorescent Lamp model has

come highly recommended by Green Peace

Better heat / light ratio whereby most of the elec-

trical energy is converted into light which makes

them much more efficient.

Additional Guidance:

If you wish to replace a GLS lamp with an energy-saving lamp, you should divide the power

(Watt) with 4 (four). A GLS lamp with 60Watt, gives you the same light as an energy saving

with 15Watt.

When buying new lighting fixtures, ensure that they are compatible with energy saving

lamps.

Lighting and the Environment:

Lighting forms a major part on our energy bill. In total an average household uses approximately

3,300 kWh of electricity per year. From the electricity bill, lightning constitutes a 1/6 of the total

kWh, which equates to 550 kWh. When utilising energy, CO2 a harmful substance is released. So

by using energy saving lamps, we are saving our environment.
