• Advantages: inexpensive, 200+ year supply (USA) technology is in place
• Disadvantages: non-renewable, produces CO2 , NO2, SO2, acid rain, gr. house gases, mercury poisoning, and mining destroys ecosystem
• Efficiency = 37%
