Legacy Gallery and Café - Ted Harrison: Painting Paradise A career retrospective of one of Canada’s most popular and beloved visual artists, including recently discovered paintings from Harrison’s 1994 Commonwealth Games series. The exhibit is curated by Katherine Gibson, author of Ted Harrison: Painting Paradise. Copies of the book are available for purchase at the gift shop.

Legacy Small Gallery - Inside Chinatown: paintings by Robert Amos. Original artwork from Robert Amos and Kileasa Wong’s book by the same title, takes you behind the doors of the 29 private clubs that make up the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association. Inside Chinatown (Touchwood Editions, 2009) will be available for sale at the Legacy gift shop.

Maltwood Gallery - Travels and Treasures: The Divine Inspirations of Katharine Maltwood & Treasures of the Turcomans: The Gastrell Collection.

Presenting two views on foreign travel: Divine Inspirations focuses on artist Katharine Maltwood and her travels to Egypt and Japan in the early 20th century. Treasures of the Turcomans features The Gastrell Collection of jewelry, textiles and carpets made by nomadic women and acquired by a British diplomat’s family while living in Iran and Baluchistan during the 1930-40s.

November 18 to January 6 McPherson Library Gallery -Passage: Works by Lisa Hebden

Passage focuses on young children, on being small and feeling small both physically and psychologically. The children in the paintings are on the cusp of adolescence, caught between unselfconsciousness and awareness of their own bodies.
