The polar bear is a relentless hunter. Its movements are associated with the movement
of the sun. In autumn, it moves southwards and in spring it moves north again, staying on the
ice belt along the Arctic coast where seals are plentiful.
It also follows the movement of tiny sea organisms that fish feeds on. This is because
there are bound to be seals where where there are plenty of fish.
When a car skidded on wet pavement and struck a light pole, severalbystanders immediately ran over to help the driver. A woman was the first toreach the victim, but a man rushed in and pushed her back.“Step aside, lady,” he barked. “I’ve taken a course in first aid.”
The woman watched him for a few minutes, and then tapped his shoulder.“Pardon me,” she said. “But when you get to the part about calling a doctor, I’mright here.”
