2. Depending on how many people have applied, each quota is adjustable within 2% of the total quota, and 10% of each department quota

3. There’s no quota for the applicants of North Korean detainees, any applicant who earned their whole 12-year pre-college education overseas, and foreigner whose both parents are foreigners.

4. If you are a foreign applicant, you must submit a transcript of TOPIK level 3 or above.

5. Broadcasting technology is divided into Broadcasting Production Technology, and Broadcasting Sound Technology, and Broadcasting System, and you can choose your major in the first semester of year 2.

3. Notices for Applicants

◎ About Application

1) All the matters written in this paper should be understood by applicants clearly to avoid any disadvantage, since those are not announced to applicants separately.

2) Applicants should submit the application form and the other required materials after passing the document screening as visiting to the college during the period of recruitment.

3) Foreign applicants must submit a transcript of TOPIK level 3 or above, thus the applicants must get transcript of TOPIK level 4 at least in order to graduate.

4) Applicants should keep in mind that, after the application forms are fully accepted, any documents or application fees are not returned and the matters written on the application form cannot be amended or cancelled without any exception.

※ Please be careful not to make any mistakes, including error, omission and misprint, to avoid any disadvantage

※ When any contact information including address, phone number or e-mail address is changed, be sure to declare to Admission Management Team (☎031-670-6612~3).

5) Multiple application is available up to 2 dept. (branches): Applicants may do multiple application to the departments (branches) existing in the college.

※ For multiple application to 2 departments (branches), the application form should be submitted separately.

※ Multiple application to different majors under the same department (branch) is not allowed.

6) Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts does not discriminate against students' physical, mental and ethnic differences and selects students based on their willingness and ability to do their studies.

7) When the name written on application form is different from that on the other submitted documents, the certificate, which is issued by court in corresponding country, should be added identifying that two different names are for one person.

8) You might be asked to submit extra documents for requirement screening, other than specified documents.

9) When any contact information including address, phone number or e-mail address on the application form is changed after the application form is submitted, be sure to declare to Admission Management Team (☎031-670-6612~3).

※ Be sure to declare as soon as possible to avoid any disadvantage.

◎ About Admission

0. For the rolling admission of the 2019 school year, successful applicants must register only one university within the period of the recruitment registration period, and in case of violation, all enrollment will be nullified.

0. All the kinds of successful candidates for rolling admission may not apply to any other kinds of recruitment held by the college (including education colleges, industrial colleges). When it is violated, the admission is nullified.

0. Multiple registrations to more than 2 colleges including the college·industrial, college·education, college·technical with the same semester of entrance are not allowed after the completion of recruitment schedule. The admission is cancelled, when it is violated.

0. Even after admission is confirmed, if there is found any falsehood, falsification, and other illegal ways to be used for application documents, the admission will be canceled and the tuition and other fees costed for the application will not be refunded.

0. The applicant will not be notified individually whether the applicant is successful or not.

0. The contents of the entrance screening evaluation are not disclosed at all.

0. Matters not specified in this paper are decided through the deliberation of Admission Management Committee of Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts.

4. Criteria to Select Candidates

A. For the departments without performance tests, the candidates are generally selected according to the result of document screening, but when the ranking is necessary due to excessive applicants, the candidates are selected by the rules of the admission management committee. And for those departments (or divisions) with performance test, applicants are distinguished by their achievement.

B. The student, as applying to the department (division) holding the actual performance test, who does not take the actual performance test cannot be permitted to enter.

C. Applied music division is assessed step by step, and only those who passed the first qualification are allowed to take the second examination.

D. The applicant who has seriously bad scores or is judged not to have enough ability for learning, say, Korean language, may be excluded from the object of successful candidate through the deliberation of Admission Management Committee.

E. The applicant, as a final successful candidate, expected to graduate from high school should graduate from high school no later than entering into the college, otherwise the permission is cancelled (※ But, one-month delay according to the academic system of corresponding country may be allowed within the expected period for attendance).

F. When there is any reason to lose the qualification occurred, the applicant may be excluded from the successful applicant list, even the applicant is qualified.

G. Any other standards for recruitment, which has not been mentioned on this paper, is handled according to the Standards for Selecting New Students and the separate principle of recruitment, which has been regulated by the Admission Management Committee.

C. Submission of attached documents

1) All the document and other paper should be submitted as an original copy in principle, but when the duplicate is submitted inevitably, the original copy must be submitted along with that to get confirmation of verification, and the original copy will be returned. But in this case, the original copy should be submitted before entrance.

2) When the applicant has learnt in the country, the member of Apostille, the applicant should submit the confirmation letter of Apostille issued by the organization designated by the government in the corresponding country (‘Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ in case of Korea), but when it is not available as in the non-member country of Apostille, the applicant may submit the government-official confirmation letter on overseas education institutions or the consul’s confirmation letter.

3) Notarized Korean version document should be attached for the documents in the language other than Korean.

4) When the applicant has learnt in 3rd country which is not the country where their parents have resided, the applicant should submit 『Certificate of learning in the 3rd country』 issued by the embassy (consulate) in the country where their parents reside (work).

D. Test fees

●Department not requiring the performance test: KRW 30,000

●Department requiring the performance test (including the interview)

- Dept. of Broadcasting in entertainment, Dept. of Performing Art, Dept. of Film arts: KRW 60,000 [including KRW 30,000 as the performance test (interview) fee]

- Division of Applied Music: 1st KRW 50,000[including KRW20,000 as the performance test], 2nd KRW 30,000

A. Applicants of applied music should pay only the first examination fee upon receipt of the application, and the second examination fee after the first test result announcement, within the due date (Non-payment during the designated dates, no chance for the second test)

B. How to pay the second examination fees will be announced on the Admission homepage along with the announcement of 1st successful applicants.

※ The paid application fee will not be returned. However, if taking the test would be not possible due to unavoidable circumstances such as ① natural disasters, ② hospitalization due to illness or disaster, treatment, ③ overlap of time with other universities and so on, the applicant must submit a statement of reasons and the evidence. You may get returned a part or all of the applicable application fees, only if your reasons are recognized as valid.

1) You should submit the application and other required documents on person or via mailing services after passing through the documents screening

7. Requirements for Application

Applicants must be a high school graduate, or an expected high school graduate, or the equivalent by law, conforming to the "★Standard of granting the qualification" stated in this document.

★Standard of granting the qualification

A. Type of attending at foreign schools

1) Period of attending at high school course for more than 2 years

2) Period of attending at the course of middle·high school for more than 2 years continuously including 1 year of high school course

3) When the applicant has not attended for more than 2 years consecutively at the courses of middle·high school, the period of attendance at middle·high school for more than 3 years including 1 year of high school course is granted.

B. Foreign school

1) Only the elementary·middle·high school courses, located in foreign country, for which the education background is granted by the law of corresponding country are granted.

2) The education organization including day-care center, kindergarten and language school and the foreign school located in Korea are excluded.

3) Only the location of foreign school in the country where your parents are residing (working) is granted. When the head of diplomatic office in foreign country grants as inevitable due to the area, religion and ideology of the country where your parents work, schools in the 3rd country which is not where the parents work may also be granted.

C. Period of attendance

1) The applicant's period of attendance at foreign school is granted within their parents' working(residing) period in the foreign country by rule.

2) The period of education at foreign school is judged for the qualification of applicant comprehensively as considering the education system of corresponding country, while having the current domestic education system be the standard.

3) In the case that the applicant has accomplished the entire course of education including elementary·middle·high school in the country where school system comprises less than 12 years of study, the period may be granted exclusively (the period is not granted when the applicant has accomplished the course both in corresponding country and another country (including Korea).

4) For the period of attendance at foreign schools, the days until the day before entrance are counted, but in the case that the corresponding country has the day of beginning the semester and the school year as one month later than Korea, only the period of attending to the foreign school within the period of expected attendance is granted exclusively.

D. Others are to be granted by the in-house Admission Management Committee judgement.

Therefore, in the performance and interviews, you can receive the following request along with the prepared free song

1) Two free songs in the applied music field (possible to duplicate the first test song within one minute, and submit five copies of musical scores)

- No accompaniment or accompaniment of 2 or less accompanists. Simple standard songs can be accompanied by a school-prepared accompanist (three additional musical scores ready for the accompanist)- Basically, it is impossible to use MR. You can use laptop and controller to show your own electronic music ability (only the source you worked on yourself, prepare to minimize setting time)2) Interview

The interview consists of contents to understand the music and basic knowledge of the examinee, and it would like below:

▶ Simple reading a musical score and improvisational play

· You can play Jazz Standard or simple chord progression, melody, rhythm style, etc., or jam session with a school-prepared accompanist.

▶ Knowledge of basic harmony, chanting and listening ability

· After reading or listening to the music, follow it with your instrument or describe it in harmonic ways

▶ Understanding the judge's questions on various topics and telling your thoughts in a coherent way

□ Major of vocal

The following basic skills are required to the applicants of the vocal major

1. natural and appropriate singing technique utilizing the merits of your own, musical sense, rhythm, emotional expression, microphone use ability, vocal arranging ability

Therefore, in the performance and interviews, you can receive the following request along with the prepared free song

- 2 of those 3 songs must be in Korean

- Each of the three songs must have a different tempo and rhythm style.

- Depending on the situation, there may be additional song requests

2) Interview: it is to understand the applicant’s musical and basic knowledge, and consist of the contents like below:

1) Audition for basic music skills

· Melody (ex: listen to the 'two-note' melody and play it on the keyboard - melody, bass, melody, bass, etc.)

· Rhythm (ex: playing a 'two-note' rhythm and playing it on the keyboard - 4 bits, 8 bits & swing, 16 bits, etc.)· Harmony (eg, 'Bm7 (b5)' with root 'B', and play each component of the chord on the keyboard: 3 chords, 7 chords, tension chords, etc.)

③ Compositions using traditional harmony 【50 points】 ☞ Within 45 minutes

▶ Based on the simple motive presented, using the traditional harmony method, the composition of 8 words and harmony▶ What to rate: Using of harmony progression, cadence, chord-tones, nonharmonic tones, 3 chords, 7 chords, sub chord, Naples 6 chords, increase of 6 chords, diatonic / chromatic pitch)

2) Audition of Self-writing song

- In order to help the judges understand the interviews, submit a portfolio of documents that express your own strengths and originalities, including personality, experience / career, motivation for applying, and academic plan.

- In the second test, a new judging panel is formed. Therefore, it is recommended to include all of your representative songs in both the first and second exams.

- Additional performance may be required to play more compositions of your own or other music piece for more accurate evaluation

- Play / Accompaniment Instruments: Piano, Synthesizer, Drum, Guitar Amplifier, Bass Amp, Music Playback Instrument, Acoustic Instrument

※ Please bring other instruments and equipment. Accompanying arrangements are freely configurable, but installation and preparation times are deducted from given performance time

- Playback source: Save to MP3 (320kbps) or WAV format to USB memory formatted with FAT32 / exFAT / NTFS

- DAW and devices provided in the test place of Electronic music production: iMac (Logic pro X), 49 key master keyboard, and headphone

※ If you want to use other personal equipment, please bring your own laptop computer and headphones (no master keyboard).

Note (for all the majors of the applied music)

Prepare 5 copies of music of each song or playing for the 2nd test and submit it on the day of the performance test

C. Notices for Performance Test

1) The applicant who does not attend the performance test is to be rejected.

2) The schedule of performance test will be assigned by DIMA after the deadline of application

3) For the Division of Applied Music, only the successful applicants from the 1st test are qualified to take the 2nd test.

4) The test fees for performance test of the Division of Applied Music are charged by each phase.

5) Applicants should attend the performance test with application slip and the identifications with photos on (resident registration card, passport, alien registration card) to take the test. If you lose your ID card, you must bring a “Resident Registration Issuance Certificate (issued by Resident centers)”. The high school ID card must have the seal of the high school’s.

※ The application slip should be the one printed out from "Performance test (Interview) Inquiry" in the college homepage.

6) When the applicant does not have the identification card or has the identification card with inappropriate photo, the applicant should get "temporary identification card" issued by the permission headquarter in the college. And within the specified date, the applicant should get confirmation on the identification on personal visit to the permission headquarter bringing the temporary identification and the identification with own photo (※When the applicant who has received the issued temporary identification ignores the phase of identification confirmation, the applicant is excluded from the applicant list).

7) Even when the number of applicants is less than the number of recruiting, the applicant who is considered as not qualified to accomplish the course may not be permitted to enter the college through the deliberation of Admission Management Committee.

8) Other matters on the performance test are announced via the Admission homepage for the applicants to check after the deadline of application.

C. How to register

The successful applicants must submit the registration fee bill in accordance with the registration method guide from the Announcement menu of Admission homepage of DIMA and pay registration fee during the registration period. ※ You must confirm the name, address and department name of the acceptance letter and the tuition bill.

D. Notices for successful candidate

1) The applicant should check the result of application and the matters of registration, since those are not notified to each applicant.

2) The letter of acceptance and the tuition fee form are not delivered to each of successful candidate, therefore those should be printed out from the menu of successful candidate announcement in the homepage if necessary.

3) Applicant is responsible for any disadvantage occurred as not checking the result of application.

4) When the applicant does not register during the period of registration, the admission is cancelled as considering the applicant is not willing to enter DIMA.

5) In case of the beneficiary of the National Veterinary Scholarship, successful applicants must to through the registration process.

6) When the applicant registers 2 or more colleges including DIMA as admitted by multiple colleges, the admission and entrance are cancelled.

7) Even after the successful candidate enters the college, the admission may be cancelled when the dishonest admission is clarified.

12. Renunciation of Admission and Refund of Tuition Fees

A. If an applicant has to give up the admission due to unavoidable reason, he/she must submit the admission waiver and the relevant documents (See “the attached document C”) by direct visit or by fax. And the tuition fee is refunded only when the withdrawal form from admission is submitted according to the "Rule of tuition fees and entrance fees". (Fax: 031-670-6614)

B. The tuition fee is refunded via on-line until the closing time of bank on the next business day after the submission of the documents.

C. Required documents for admission waiver (※ in case of visit of applicant, and when a parent visits, the copy of identification card of the visitor is needed.)
