Wherever you are in the world, your business faces increasing pressure to ensure its assets and services meet safety, environmental and reliability goals and create efficiencies during their lifecycle. At the same time, you must complete projects under budget, within challenging timescales and in line with stringent regulations.

These challenges affect organisations across multiple sectors, including developers of railways, airports and other critical infrastructure projects, owners

and operators of Oil & Gas plant and equipment, businesses supporting the effective running of defence programmes and nuclear energy companies investing in new-build facilities or extending the life of old plants.

Your success is dependent on how well you manage the safety, performance and availability of your operations, ensuring they have minimal impact on your people and neighbouring communities. With this in mind, our consultants believe there is no margin for error.

Market overview:

Your challenges

Your success is dependent on how well you

manage the safety, reliability and availability

of your operations. With this in mind, we

believe there is no margin for error.

Reaching higher quality standards

The world is striving for higher standards. Governments are exploring alternatives to fossil fuels in order to meet climate change targets, but in the meantime, energy companies are expected to maintain a stable and secure power supply. The desire to reduce carbon emissions while facilitating greater movement between major hubs is creating complex engineering challenges for the rail sector. In the Defence sector, the establishment of the Military Aviation Authority (MAA) requires companies to take a much more proactive approach to safety and airworthiness.

In short, customers are more demanding. They expect you to support environmental goals and achieve flawless safety and reliability, but they are also seeking sharper project execution.

A fast, expert response

The environments you work in are sometimes harsh or remote. You need consultants who can respond straight away, wherever you are based, with focused insight of your technical requirements.

Our people have backgrounds, qualifications and engineering experience specific to your sector, which means we can tackle all these challenges and more head-on – with speed, certainty and precision. Our experts’ broad capabilities and their passion to share ideas internally ensure that we stay at the forefront of our industry and provide our clients with a service that is second to none.

In Azerbaijan and Asia, ERA has conducted third-party verification of electrical installation and design, including technical auditing of manufacturing and fabrication for upstream businesses, to minimise the likelihood of failure.

Agile, professional teams

Our consultants are based around the world, with local insight and many have previously worked in the field. They understand the criticality of your requirements and have a thorough understanding of the environment in which you need to operate.

We can provide our services from any of our global office locations, or send consultants on secondments to a client’s site when it is necessary to have closer access over a period of time. This is based on your need and we ensure we quickly adapt to the culture and working ethos of your business.

Trusted partners in quality

Our customers come back to us time and again because of the quality of our service coupled with the in-depth technical knowledge of sectors and stakeholder requirements. End-to-end reassurance:

Our services

Our services will give you peace of mind, as well as save you time and money. Our engineers will work closely with you, as your partners, to help you:

• improve operational performance

• maximise availability

• minimise financial penalties

• manage safety

• learn from failures

• achieve regulatory compliance.

We can support you on an ad hoc basis or provide an integrated through-lifecycle service and across multiple sites, becoming an integral part of your team. From concept and planning, through design and commissioning, to operation, maintenance and disposal, we can provide the technical abilities, services and guidance you need to make informed decisions.

Asset Integrity

To maximise the availability and safety of large, high-value assets, our clients know they must invest in asset design, integrity and reliability assessments at each stage of the asset’s lifecycle. We provide owners and operators of these assets with technical information to enable them to make informed asset maintenance, repair or replacement decisions.

Our specialist electrical, mechanical and materials consultancy services provide you with design confidence, asset condition and remaining life assessments, fitness for service and prioritised maintenance plans – all geared to help optimise the return on your investment.

When an asset fails, we provide independent root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence and regularly provide expert evidence supporting an insurance claim.

Capability Assurance

We understand that the procurement of equipment or services is only one part of enabling a successful capability. The ability to use your high-quality product when and where it is required and in a safe manner, is fundamental to your end objectives. Our services ensure that a product or service is influenced at the design stage to optimise its performance, safety and availability.

We implement an approach of ‘product, people, process and policy’ to influence the success of a capability. This is ultimately measured by your ability to meet your operational and financial objectives. We offer techniques and tools to model the effectiveness of a capability and to predict future risks, allowing mitigation measures to be designed.

Power Engineering

The challenges the power sector faces, such as increased competition, deregulation and environmental pressures, require you to be assured of the economic, financial and technical viability of your projects.

By providing a highly responsive and flexible consultancy service, we enable you to make investment decisions with confidence at any time during the project’s lifecycle. Our early involvement offers key advantages in terms of the optimisation of technical performance, value-engineering reviews to maximise cost reduction, risk minimisation, and compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements.

The breadth of consultancy services we provide in power systems and renewable energy, coupled with the experience we have across many countries and industry sectors, means we provide a one-stop facility covering low to extra-high voltage systems.

Training and Information

We offer a regular programme of CPD-certified training courses to help you maintain and develop technical excellence. Our training courses provide an authoritative, interactive route to improving your knowledge and expertise. For many of our customers, the programmes have become a fundamental part of their organisations’ personnel development plans.

Accurate and reliable information improves the success rate of decision-making, giving companies a sharper, more competitive edge. Our experts help organisations worldwide improve their capabilities. We acknowledge that each company’s needs are different. When the solution to a technical problem is outside your engineering expertise, we can complement your own resources by offering timely access to the relevant consultancy, information and training.
