1. Define Engineering Ethics. (Remember) The study of moral issues and decisions confronting individuals and organizations engaged in engineering field. 2. Differentiate Micro and Macro ethics. (Understand) Micro ethics-deals about some typical everyday problems which plays an important role in the engineering field. Macro- ethics deals about some societal problems which are unknown and suddenly burst out. 3. What are the three types of inquiries? (Remember) Normative inquiry- Based on values Conceptual inquiry – Based on meaning Factual inquiry- Based on facts 4. Define moral autonomy. (Remember) The ability to think critically and independently about moral issues and then apply those thinking to situations that arise in the engineering practices. 5. Mention the criteria required for a profession.(Remember) Knowledge Organization Public good 6. Define Professionalism.(Remember) The term professionalism refers to the qualities, competencies and skills of professionals. It has behavioral connotations and refers to the manifestations of a professional. 7. “Do to others as you expect others to do to you”-Comment on the Quote.(Apply) The quote refers to the post conventional level of Lawrence Kohlberg’s theory which means that we should follow certain standard principles and to help others what we expect them to do. 8.
