Omar Ladies and gentlemen, lads and lasses, welcome to the Westfield, class of
2012, year 6 summer show.
Atenea Please ensure your mobiles are switched off especially i-phones as they
interfere with our digital sound system. Please note the fire exit to my right.
Elian You know this is a very special year for us at Westfield, because 2012 isn’t just
any old year…
Atenea Side left “It’s the Queen’s jubilee! Three cheers for her majesty, hip hip” (side
right hooray x 3)
Omar Yes, but that’s not it…
Elián Side right “It’s York 800!!
Omar No, that’s not it either….
Elian Side left “It’s the Olympic year!”
2
Atenea No, no, no, 2012 is so special for us because this is the 60th anniversary of the
opening of our school; it’s Westfield’s own diamond jubilee (crowd cheer, sing
happy birthday, round of applause).
Omar We worked out that sixty years ago it was the fifties, so there was only really
one choice for this year’s show… it had to be Grease! (Grease is the word, is
the word, is the word….)
Elian Enjoy the show! Bow
TRANSITORY MUSIC
Yandeli Sandy: Oh Danny hasn’t it been a wonderful summer? All those lovely day
trips round the Riviera of the north. And good thing it was cloudy, you saved a
fortune on sunscreen!
Mauro Danny: Ooh yeah, it’s God’s own country is Yorkshire, and that day we had in
Blackpool riding on the Big One, it beats those rides at Euro Disney any day of
the week d’nt it love?
Yandeli Sandy: My favourite days out were the quiet trips to Robin Hood’s bay,
Cayton Bay… so romantic (crowd aah!)
Mauro Danny: I liked the day we went surfing at Brid me. It were chuffing mint!
Yandeli Sandy: I can’t believe summer’s nearly over. My dad’s lost his job with that
double dip recession, so he said we might have to move for work, and his work
could take us anywhere.
Mauro Danny: Well, at least we can keep in touch on Facebook.
Yandeli Sandy: Yeah, I’m definitely changing my status from single. Do you think this
the end Danny?
Mauro Danny: No darl, this is just the beginning.
CHANGE OF SCENE, BACK AT SCHOOL

Pablo And handsome on my face (PLAY FUL CHOREO)

Diego Summer was sick! How bout yours? We need to catch up, quickly feelas.
Jesus I was working all summer. I’ve got some great wheels lads, wait til you see
‘em
Luis My mom kept me at home, I was like a slave, washing, cleaning, painting,
cleaning, and showering everyday.
Elian My story is almost the same, I was watching TV and drinking milkshakes…
Marco Where are they then?
Lalo Kinnicky: We’re still working on em. It’s in that garage down on the Green,
Central Body Repairs. We can walk round after school if you like?
Elian How did you get in there then?
Jesus In our dodge. (ALL LAUGH, AND DO HAIR)
Lalo I also heard you started working, in McD’s (MICKEY DS)(Macdonalds)
Diego I impressed them with my initiative, and my entrepreneurial brilliance! And of
course my looks. “Welcome to Macdonalds, may I take your order?” We have
so much potential we’re all destined for great things. I’ll own my own garage
by the time I’m 30, you mark my words.
Mauro Danny walks up the aisle
Luis I feel like we’re missing someone, Oh talking about the king of Rome…
Carlos T-Bird 4: Hey, Danny boy, starts singing, “Oh Danny, Danny. Danny Danny ,
boy…..”
All push / shove him, pipe down, enough already etc.
Elian We’re so ready for The Voice, you know!
Mauro Danny: Alright lads. Great to see you (back slapping etc.)
Pablo Where you been all summer?
Mauro Danny: At the beach. Dancing, romancing, I had a great time!
Lalo Did you meet any girls? Any new conquests??? Heartbreaker.
Luis Or did you mom make you clean, and wash and shower every day?
4
Mauro Like the saying goes…
Everybody “What happens in summer, stays in summer”
Jairo (approaches and tries to greet them) hey, what’s up fellas. Are we ready to
have the best year of our lives..!
(nobody greets him) (bell rings)
Marco Come on t birds, it’s time to NOT go to class (exit fashionably)
BOYS LEAVE TALKING AND PLAYING.
GIRLS ENTER
Cristina Pink Lady: Hi! How was your summer?
Enya Pink Lady: Ooh it was fantastic! We went to Filey Bay and had a great time.
You can’t beat a sandy beach, and the B+B did a gorgeous full English
breakfast, you wouldn’t get that abroad
Atenea We din’t go away, but we did have some good days out though. My mum let
me go with her to ladies’ day at the Races, and we were in the posh bit too! I
had a fascinator and everything
Maia Pink Lady: We went to London, so exciting with all the Olympics buzz, and we
saw the Minster men thrash Luton to win promotion. How ‘bout you Rizzo?
Did you go away?
Mariana Rizzo: Oh no ladies, my life’s one big holiday. It’s such a drag having to come
back to school. At least it’s nearly over.
Pía Pink Lady: Ooh I’ll be really sad to leave. I’ve loved Westfield
All: Oh yes, wonderful Westfield sigh
Enya Pink Lady : At least we’re off to the best secondary school in York, and the
Children’s Champions will be there waiting to meet us at York High in
September
Gala Pink Lady: Ooh yeah, it’ll be great to see a friendly face. I’m a bit worried
about leaving
Mariana Rizzo: Don’t be daft, we’re more than ready. I can’t wait to get there
Sandy and Frenchie walk up the aisle
Yandeli Sandy: I’m really nervous Frenchie. What if no one likes me? I was at a tiny
5
village school before, where everyone knew everyone. Westfield High’s got so
many children. I’m worried I’ll get lost
Sara Frenchie: Don’t worry darl, everyone at Westfield is really kind, and if you’ve
ever got a problem the Children’s Champions are here to help you
Cristina And I’ll look after you. Come and meet my friends. Hey girls, great to see
you. Can I introduce you to my new friend Sandy? She’s just moved in next
door.
Pink ladies all say hello, hug Frenchie etc.
Mariana Rizzo: Alright love, have you come from o’er the tops?
Yandeli Sandy: I was at a tiny village in North Yorkshire. We only had two classes at
my old school.
Isabella Pink Lady: Oh Westfield might be a big school, but we’re very friendly. You
won’t find more loyal mates than weggies.
Pía Pink Lady: In fact we’re all having a sleepover after the footy match later. Do
you want to come and join us? We’ll get a DVD from Blockbusters and maybe
a Hakis?
Yandeli Sandy: Oh thanks, I’d love to come!
Maia Pink Lady: And what about the summer holiday Sandy? Did you go away?
Yandeli Sandy: I had the holiday of a life time, and I met the boy of my dreams. I had
the best time!
Gala And was he cute? Very manly and handsome like the rock?
Enya Was he nice? Did he treat you right? What’s his Facebook!?
Cristina Tell me more! Tell me more!
Yandeli If only you knew… he was my summer loving….
SUMMER NIGHT DANCE AND SING.

ACT 2 Boys’ stuff, girls’ stuff.
Boys and their cars, girls and their appearance. Bonding and having time in the 70’s… but, a little updated. Grammar & Vocabulary focus:
Present vs. Present Continuous Scenery & Prompts: Personal cars Bed and nightly gowns
Lasting time: 15-20 mins
Pablo Hey lads, can you see those Hob Moor Scorpions over there? They should
stick to their own turf. I think they’re cruising for a bruising
Marco My mum says we shouldn’t go racing on the Moor. Those cows, once you
spook ‘em they all charge! I tell you what Kinnicky, you’ll go fast alright, but
you’ll be breaking Olympic records for all the wrong reasons
Carlos We should be faster than Usain Bolt on wheels, faster than a cheetah on jets.
Elian Yeah, I’ve had a herd of cows on my tail and it ain’t much fun mate
Diego Chill out lads, once my wheels are fixed up I’ll be off like grease lightning
Luis Do you think we’d be better on our bikes rather than scooters. You know
how reckless some people are, don’t fasten their belts, text and drive, all day
distracted…
Jairo Ooh yeah, bike it, like it! You know at Westfield we’ve been doing all this
work on how inspirational Olympians are? I’m thinking of Usain Bolt right
now. Even a herd of cows couldn’t catch him!
Marco I’m thinking of Neil armstrong. He’s the cycling king. Charging bulls
wouldn’t catch him, never mind cows!
Jesús Dude! Remember he cheated, all those years, he was using and enhancing
drug. So much taken for just one mistake. The cops did catch him.
Mauro Lots of thinking, but no working.. get on with it. This greased lightning must
be ready for the race pits- it better burn out the quarter mile.
Luis No scorpions will come any where close to us, we gonna smoke them!
Jairo Check list of what we need:
7
Pistons, brake pads, oil, filters, Rods, wheels, rims…
Carlos We better be faster than “the fast and the furious”, bbrrrrrnnnnnnnn,
brrrnnnnnn
Jesús All the chicks will have to look at us when we dive by them.
Lalo I’ll get the palomino dashboard and the dual muffler twins
Pablo A fuel injection cut off and chrome plated rods oh yeah
Diego Keep talking, who keep talking, yeah!
Marco I’ll get the money, I’ll kill to get the money
Diego Heck yeah! We´ll have all the girls screaming!
Everybody shouts. Greeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaased lightning!
GREASED LIGHTNING DANCE AND SINGING
Change scene to pajama party
Pía Pink Lady: Hi Sandy, come in, it’s great to see you, thanks for coming.
Yandeli Sandy: I just bobbed into Costcutter to get some popcorn. What are we
watching?
Maia Pink Lady 3: Marvel’s Avengers, but we’re doing our nails first
Mariana Rizzo: Well I don’t need mine doing, I’ve got shellac (shows ridiculous nails)
Atenea Pink lady: Ooh, hark at you!!
Cristina Pink Lady 1: I had that when we went to the races. I had it done at
Christine’s, and a spray tan too
Enya Pink Lady 2: I go to Jasmine’s beauty salon me, I had some Minx done there
Sara Frenchie: Well girls you won’t need to worry about paying all those fancy
salon prices when I’ve finished my training, coz I’m going mobile. (walks
around nicely fixing stuff)
Gala Pink Lady: What training’s that Frenchie?
Sara Frenchie: I did my training at York College, and now I’ve got work experience
doing hair, nails and beauty. I’ve only landed up at the best salon in York. All
you’ll ever need, cheap and done by your biffie.
Maia That sound´s wonderful my friend! York College is very famous
Cristina Pink Lady: Oh my god FRENCHIE thanks. I think I need to bring my mom to
you
Isabella So do I, she needs more fashion and make up advice than a circus clown
THEY ALL LAUGH
Pía Pink Lady: You’ve got lots of other skills too haven’t you Frenchie? Tell
Sandy how you got your nickname?
8
Atenea I had wondered why they call you Frenchie. Please tell us.
Sara Frenchie: OH WELL, I don’t like telling the story, but I can show you. It’s all
about…
Isabella Moving, hopping, and jumping around. I exercise in Zumba!
Mariana And there’s no one more obsessed than Mr Ralph. he can’t get enough of
Westfield zumba!,
Maia But I think she just finds zumba easier than doing diets! And is super fun to
dance
Isabella Pink Lady: Anyway girls, shall we show all these good people why zumba’s so
much fun? Girls all shout yes
Cristina Yes, let´s dance together Zumba 1 ,2, 3, what?
Omar Zumba boy 1: Hold on, hold on, did I hear Zumba?’’ You know boys can do
zumba too!
Gala Do you now???Why don’t you show us !
Maia Yes show us! We are ready to dance cha cha cha!
Pablo Zumba boy 2: I reckon we can go one better than that love, but let’s see
what you’ve got first. Music maestro!

and give Sandy a hand clearing up
Atenea Pink Lady 4: Okay, well, we’ll see you later (pink ladies leave, rizzo, Frenchie,
Isabella, sandy stay)
Yandeli (To Frenchie) What’s up darl?
Sara Frenchie: I’m worried about Changing schools and leaving this, my home. I
don’t know if my grades will be good enough, if I´ll find friends, Even if the’d
like me at all
Yandeli Sandy: It’s not all about grades love. You have so many good things tat will
make everyone like you!
Sara Frenchie: Do you think so? Like what?
Yandeli Sandy: You are always punctual and reliable for a start, that’s really
important, not like people nowadays. You’re good at listening to other
people too, and teamwork is so important. You should have more confidence
in yourself Frenchie. You must stick at it too, don’t give up and waste your
10
chance.
Isabella How bout you rizzo, are you not worried ?
Mariana Rizzo: who ? me ? besides being pretty and fashionable, im also really good at
texting, having the best angles in selfies and have many likes and I can
