COURSE DESCRIPTIONGeneral English (GE) is offered at various levels to suit your needs. A placement test assesses your current English language ability and places you in the level that suits you. The General English course will help you develop your everyday communication skills in reading, writing, listening and speaking.

OUTCOMES AND BENEFITSThe General English course is dynamic and interactive. Participating in group projects will help you develop teamwork skills while providing a supportive and fun environment in which to improve your English. Activities outside the classroom, like regular excursions to popular tourist sites and participating in cultural and sporting activities will give you added opportunities to practise your English skills in real life settings.

When you finish your GE course, you will be able to:

PATHWAY OR STANDALONEYou can study an English course as a pathway into a CQUniversity degree, for instance, package English with a postgraduate course. You may also be eligible to study our English course as standalone, provided that you are on a temporary resident visa. Some examples of the visa subclasses that are eligible for standalone are:

COURSE DESCRIPTIONThe English for Academic Purposes 2 (EAP2) course will help you develop reading, writing, listening and speaking skills required for university study. During the course, you will also develop your critical thinking and academic skills.
