ROMEO AND JULIET FOR 500 What part of the play is this quote from?
“Two households, both alike in dignity
(In fair Verona, where we lay our scene),
From ancient grudge break to new mutiny,
Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean.
From forth the fatal loins of these two foes
A pair of star-crossed lovers take their life,
Whose misadventured piteous overthrows
Doth with their death bury their parents' strife.
The fearful passage of their death-marked love
And the continuance of their parents' rage,
Which, but their children’s end, naught could remove,
Is now the two hours' traffic of our stage—
The which, if you with patient ears attend,
What here shall miss, our toil shall strive to mend.”PROLOGUE

FINAL ANSWER Possible answer: In each of the novels, the characters could
have remained civilized and would have been able to avoid certain catastrophes. For example, in Romeo and Juliet, if the Capulets and the Montagues had remained civil and not had a feud for so many years, Romeo and Juliet would have lived. In The Odyssey, Oddysseus got stuck going on his journey because of the Trojan War. Along the way, he constantly picking fights with the Cyclops, he risked his crews’ lives with Scylla and Charybdis, and almost got himself killed. In Night, the Nazis killed millions of innocent Jews. In After the First Death, the terrorists had became extremely uncivilized as they tried to get back to their “homeland” and trapped a busload of children and a young woman in the process. In To Kill a Mockingbird, the testimony was completely unfair and injustice. Lastly, in Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the author explains how man can become completely uncivilized and become the devil inside of them.
