Dear Parents/Carers,

YEAR 5 RESIDENTIAL TRIP TO ARUNDEL - SEPTEMBER 2017

This is advance notice to our children currently in Year 4 that we have been able to secure a booking for two nights at the Sussex Heritage Centre in Warningcamp for when the children join Year 5. The residential trip to Arundel will take place from Wednesday 27th to Friday 29th September 2017. The children will stay at the Sussex Heritage Centre in and spend their time studying the history and geography of Arundel. During their stay they will follow a town trail in Arundel, visit the Cathedral and the Castle and will carry out some science work at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. Please be aware that you will need to arrange for your child to be taken to and collected from the Centre at the beginning and end of their stay, as there are no coaches booked for this trip.

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about Arundel, past and present, through first-hand experience. In addition a residential trip is invaluable in helping children to develop their inter-personal skills and their relationships with each other.

The voluntary contribution requested for the trip is £110. This includes full-board accommodation at the Sussex Heritage Centre (breakfast, packed lunch and evening meal) and all the visits. All such contributions are voluntary and your child would not be denied a place because you declined to make a voluntary payment. However, the school may not be able to proceed with the trip unless there were sufficient voluntary contributions for it to be finalised. If there are cases of hardship please do contact me in confidence.

A meeting for parents will be held towards the end of this academic year. In the meantime, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
