Basic Biology

Science

The word science is derived from a Latin word which means “know”

Science is a knowledge which we get through observation and experiments is called science

Biology

The Word Biology consist upon two Greek words Bios = life and logos = Study or knowledge.

The Study of life is called biology.

Botany

Botany (Gr: Botane = Plants).The branch Of Biology which deals with study

of plants

Zoology

Zoology (Gr: zoo = Animals).The branch Of Biology which deals with study

of animals.Formerly living things were classified into

two kingdom I.e. Plants kingdom and Animal kingdom.

Plants were studied in botany and. Animal were studied in Zoology.

Division Of Biology

Molecular biology: It is the study of structures ,composition and

function of the molecules having important role in the formation of the cell and its parts.

E.g: Proteins and nucleic acid.

Microbiology

Microbiology (from Greek "small" , bios, "life"; and logos is the study of microscopic organisms, either unicellular (single cell), multicellular (cell colony).

Environmental Biology

Environmental Biology: it is the study of environment and its effect

on living things.E.g Soil, water,Co2, light.

Marine Biology

Marine Biology it is the study of marine watered living organisms and their environment.

Freshwater Biology

Freshwater Biology it is the study of fresh watered living organisms and their environment.

Parasitology

Parasitology the study of parasites.They get their food from other living things

and effect the host.

Human Biology

Human biology the study of humans it includes, evolution, anatomy inheritance of human being.

Social Biology

Social Biology it is the study of various relationship and interaction among the living things include man.

Biotechnology

Biotechnology is the use of living systems and organisms to develop or make useful products, or "any technological application that uses biological systems, living organisms or derivatives thereof, to make or modify products or processes for specific use.
