• Tunguska event occurred near Podkamennaya tunguska river which is now krasnoyarsk krai of Russia.

• This location is in the central Siberian area of Russia, approximately 1000 km north of the town of Irkutsk and Lake Baika.

• The event occurred on June 30,1908 at around 7:14 am.

Incident

• A meteor or a comet burst in the air rather than directly hitting the surface.

• Energy of the blast range from 5 megatons to as high as 30 megatons of TNT .

• About 1,000 times as powerful as the bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan.

• About one third the power of the Tsar Boma, the largest nuclear weapon ever detonated.

• If the collision had occurred 4 hours 47 minutes later, it would have completely destroyed the Imperial Russian capital, Saint Petersburg.

• The explosion produced fluctuations in atmospheric pressure strong enough to be detected in Great Britain.

• Over the next few weeks, night skies were aglow such that one could read in their light, caused by dust suspended in the stratosphere by the explosion

• Scientists have claimed that the Tunguska event was the result of an exploding alien spaceship or even an alien weapon.

• A century has passed by since the explosion has occurred but still the cause is not so evident.

• Worst of all, it left not a single piece of concrete evidence from which we could reconstruct what had happened.

• We only know that “something” was responsible for a tremendous amount of destruction.
