The Ennerdale Hereford Stud was founded in 1943 with four Colly Creek females of the Prudence, Chloe and Matchless families given to Mrs Luckock by her father Mr L.J. Weatherly, then principal of the famous Colly Creek stud that was based at Willow Tree in NSW. The commercial herd commenced in 1939, again on Colly Creek bloodlines. The stud has always directed its efforts toward breeding big cattle with quality, volume and structural soundness and all cattle must have the ability to milk and perform in a commercial environment. Cattle with suspect or poor feet are culled and the same applies to cows who prove to be poor milkers. Ennerdale is currently running 350 cows plus heifers, 12000 fine wool merinos, 450 acres of cropping and an Arabian horse stud consisting of forty horses on 4250 acres, so our cattle have to perform under competition and are widely regarded for their constitution when seasons are tough. Over the years the stud has invested heavily in stud sires from Ardno, South Boorook, Lowanna, Windsor and Yarram Park followed by semen shares in sires from the Rocky Haven Hereford Ranch in Saskatchewen, Canada and the Smithston Hereford Stud in NSW. We have further added to our sire battery during recent years with the introduction of new sires through semen shares and packages, (refer to new sires pages) and the purchase of Markowen Example & Markowen Intruder, both purchased for $10,000. We have also added to our Poll Hereford base with the purchase of Wiranya Princess U71, purchased at the Wiranya dispersal in partnership with the Charnock Stud for $16,000. Embryo Transfer programmes have been used to fast track genetic improvement. We have had some pleasing results in the showring, with the Scandal’s Senior Champion in Sydney, which followed his Senior Champion in Melbourne in 2000, being the highlight. At Melbourne Royal E.Viking was Junior Champion Bull in 2002 and in 2003 E.Daisy Girl 58 AI was Reserve Junior Champion Female. At the World Hereford Conference in Sydney 2004, E.Fiddler stood 5th in a very strong class of 39 bulls and E.Daisy 58 AI also stood 5th in her class. Ennerdale hasn’t shown since 2004. However, more importantly our bulls have performed in the paddock. Over the years we have enjoyed some successful associations with our client’s calves topping the Hamilton & Birregurra weaner sales. We likewise have appreciated and enjoyed the long association we have had with the Kenna family from Cliffney Park, who have been buying bulls from Ennerdale for 56 years.

1. The highest bidder shall be the purchaser, and in the event of any dispute arising it shall

be settled by the Auctioneer, unless one of the claimants will advance the bidding above the disputed bid, in which case the lot or lots shall be put up again.

2. The purchaser shall deposit twenty - five per cent (25%) of the whole amount of the purchase money with the Auctioneer, if required, at any time during the sale. 3. All stock shall be paid for in cash immediately on conclusion of the sale, and prior to delivery, but, in the event of delivery being made, or possession being obtained by the purchaser or his representative prior to payment of the purchase money, or any cheques given on account of same, the purchaser shall hold the stock as trustee only for the vendor. 4. All stock shall be at the risk of the purchaser upon the fall of the hammer, which shall constitute pro forma delivery. 5. No warranty is given by the Auctioneers with any lot, and as all lots are available for inspection previous to commencement of sale, the same are sold (subject to clause 6) with all faults, if any. The Auctioneers shall not be responsible for any errors or omissions in any particulars appearing in the description or pedigrees of any lot offered for sale, and no error, omission or misdescription in such particulars or pedigrees shall invalidate the sale or be made the subject of any compensation. 6. The purchaser shall have the right of canceling the sale should an animal within the minimum required time from the date of sale pass a veterinary test for a health certificate enabling it to travel interstate to a destination nominated by the purchaser on the day of the sale. The cost of obtaining such health certificate to be borne by the purchaser if the animal passes and by the vendor should it fail to pass the test. 7. If the purchaser shall neglect or fail to comply with any of the above conditions, any stock purchased by him may be immediately re - sold by public auction or private contract with or without notice, at his risk and he will be held responsible for all loss and expenses arising out of such resale, and shall not participate in any profit accruing therefrom. 8. Any person attempting to induce a buyer to abstain from bidding by any promise that may influence the price in a buyers favour, or to abstain by reason of such attempt, and so any auctioneer or clerk who knowingly enters in the record of any sale any other name than that of the successful bidder (unless the bidder confirms the record immediately after the sale) is punishable by fine or imprisonment. 9. The purchaser authorises the Auctioneer, and /or the Auctioneers Clerk, to sign the contract of sale on his behalf.

History The history of Ennerdale Herefords can be found at the beginning of the catalogue. Health All bulls were 7 in 1 vaccinated on 28/10/2017 The bulls have been vaccinated with Pestigard - 2 shot program plus an annual booster on 28/10/2017. We recommend that this is continued on an annual basis. The bulls were drenched with Dectomax Pour On on the 28/10/2017. Ennerdale is accredited JBAS 8 under the Johnes Beef Assurance Score. Scanning Bulls were scanned by Geoff Moncrieff on 30th October 2017. Free Delivery Should purchasers accept the offer of free delivery within a 200km radius, Ennerdale would appreciate an understanding of the complexities of arranging truck loads to various locations. It will therefore be necessary to accept delivery as arranged by the transport operator & Ennerdale. Delivery will terminate at the main property yards. 1. The highest bidder shall be the purchaser, and in the event of any dispute arising it shall

be settled by the Auctioneer, unless one of the claimants will advance the bidding above the disputed bid, in which case the lot or lots shall be put up again.

2. The purchaser shall deposit twenty - five per cent (25%) of the whole amount of the purchase money with the Auctioneer, if required, at any time during the sale. 3. All stock shall be paid for in cash immediately on conclusion of the sale, and prior to delivery, but, in the event of delivery being made, or possession being obtained by the purchaser or his representative prior to payment of the purchase money, or any cheques given on account of same, the purchaser shall hold the stock as trustee only for the vendor. 4. All stock shall be at the risk of the purchaser upon the fall of the hammer, which shall constitute pro forma delivery. 5. No warranty is given by the Auctioneers with any lot, and as all lots are available for inspection previous to commencement of sale, the same are sold (subject to clause 6) with all faults, if any. The Auctioneers shall not be responsible for any errors or omissions in any particulars appearing in the description or pedigrees of any lot offered for sale, and no error, omission or misdescription in such particulars or pedigrees shall invalidate the sale or be made the subject of any compensation. 6. The purchaser shall have the right of canceling the sale should an animal within the minimum required time from the date of sale pass a veterinary test for a health certificate enabling it to travel interstate to a destination nominated by the purchaser on the day of the sale. The cost of obtaining such health certificate to be borne by the purchaser if the animal passes and by the vendor should it fail to pass the test. 7. If the purchaser shall neglect or fail to comply with any of the above conditions, any stock purchased by him may be immediately re - sold by public auction or private contract with or without notice, at his risk and he will be held responsible for all loss and expenses arising out of such resale, and shall not participate in any profit accruing therefrom. 8. Any person attempting to induce a buyer to abstain from bidding by any promise that may influence the price in a buyers favour, or to abstain by reason of such attempt, and so any auctioneer or clerk who knowingly enters in the record of any sale any other name than that of the successful bidder (unless the bidder confirms the record immediately after the sale) is punishable by fine or imprisonment. 9. The purchaser authorises the Auctioneer, and /or the Auctioneers Clerk, to sign the contract of sale on his behalf.

The Ennerdale Hereford Stud was founded in 1943 with four Colly Creek females of the Prudence, Chloe and Matchless families given to Mrs Luckock by her father Mr L.J. Weatherly, then principal of the famous Colly Creek stud that was based at Willow Tree in NSW. The commercial herd commenced in 1939, again on Colly Creek bloodlines. The stud has always directed its efforts toward breeding big cattle with quality, volume and structural soundness and all cattle must have the ability to milk and perform in a commercial environment. Cattle with suspect or poor feet are culled and the same applies to cows who prove to be poor milkers. Ennerdale is currently running 350 cows plus heifers, 12000 fine wool merinos, 450 acres of cropping and an Arabian horse stud consisting of forty horses on 4250 acres, so our cattle have to perform under competition and are widely regarded for their constitution when seasons are tough. Over the years the stud has invested heavily in stud sires from Ardno, South Boorook, Lowanna, Windsor and Yarram Park followed by semen shares in sires from the Rocky Haven Hereford Ranch in Saskatchewen, Canada and the Smithston Hereford Stud in NSW. We have further added to our sire battery during recent years with the introduction of new sires through semen shares and packages, (refer to new sires pages) and the purchase of Markowen Example & Markowen Intruder, both purchased for $10,000. We have also added to our Poll Hereford base with the purchase of Wiranya Princess U71, purchased at the Wiranya dispersal in partnership with the Charnock Stud for $16,000. Embryo Transfer programmes have been used to fast track genetic improvement. We have had some pleasing results in the showring, with the Scandal’s Senior Champion in Sydney, which followed his Senior Champion in Melbourne in 2000, being the highlight. At Melbourne Royal E.Viking was Junior Champion Bull in 2002 and in 2003 E.Daisy Girl 58 AI was Reserve Junior Champion Female. At the World Hereford Conference in Sydney 2004, E.Fiddler stood 5th in a very strong class of 39 bulls and E.Daisy 58 AI also stood 5th in her class. Ennerdale hasn’t shown since 2004. However, more importantly our bulls have performed in the paddock. Over the years we have enjoyed some successful associations with our client’s calves topping the Hamilton & Birregurra weaner sales. We likewise have appreciated and enjoyed the long association we have had with the Kenna family from Cliffney Park, who have been buying bulls from Ennerdale for 56 years.
