Based on pavilion-style Balinese architecture, Villa Windu Sari was the first of two villas built side by side in a luxurious and well-secured Petitenget housing estate. Right from walking through the front gate of this luxury villa guests are welcomed first by the friendly staff and beautiful gardens and then the elegant styling of their new Balinese surroundings.

Designed by Australian architect, Glenn Parker, the two buildings that make up Windu Sari have been built predominantly from timber, with polished marble and Jogya stone floors. There has been no expense spared in the interiors and with a renovation just completed. which added new air-conditioners, beds and 40-inch TVs to the bedrooms, bathroom upgrades, new bed linen, towels, cushions, etc., and every surface either repainted, stained or re-polished, all fittings and details of this villa are in prime condition.

The main living space is furnished with large, cushioned sofas with a coffee table on one side, and a solid timber, eight-seater, extendable dining table on the other. With a Sonos music system and a huge choice of music the good times are ready to roll at the press of a button. The lighting at night is particularly attractive with striking copper lamps hanging from the high ceiling, and a multitude of halogen drop lights strategically placed around the space. This living area is an entertainer’s dream. A fully appointed kitchen, which was refitted with new appliances in the recent renovation, sits behind the living area, and includes a full-time chef to prepare a selection of meals straight from the villa menu. On the upper floor is a modern, air-conditioned media room complete with large 60-inch TV, sound system, DVD and plush sofas. A well-equipped villa gym is also upstairs.

The attention to detail in Villa Windu Sari is what makes the villa stand out. Four bedrooms, each with private en-suites, make up the second building and this is where guests’ senses begin to be seduced.

A pleasant perfumed scent greets you as you walk into the bedrooms. The hand towels in the bathrooms are also similarly perfumed and the feel of the fine fluffy rugs on the floor combine to make a sensorial feast of the nicest kind. The bedrooms are finely tuned to offer the perfect night’s sleep – perfect bed, perfect air-conditioning and perfect detailing.

Villa Windu Sari is the ideal residence for families or groups of couples holidaying on Bali. According to the villa manager, there are often groups of four couples renting the villa together, and I could well imagine the

good times rolling on those occasions.

Ideally situated in the middle of the Petitenget and Seminyak action, great dining and nightlife options are very close at hand and very accessible. Guests can arrange a rental car or just take a taxi down to all the hotspots like Sarong, Metis, Kudeta or have a drink in Red Carpet, La Favela, or clubs like Mint, Mirror or Woo. The beach is also not very far away. But if that’s all too hectic for you, just laze by the 14-metre swimming pool on the navy-blue cushioned bale or sunbeds, get a bronze tan and live the Bali luxury villa life.

I know, we did both and it was such a fun and relaxing stay. Having a connecting door to the adjacent and larger, six-bedroom Villa Windu Asri, the two villas when combined can easily accommodated 10 couples or several families in style.

Villa Windu Sari is an ideal home away from home that offers all the sensorial and practical needs and pleasures for a wonderful holiday on Bali for families and groups of friends. FRV
