Enter the adventure zone. Get excited.
This is the log cabin, “hytte”, which gives you a taste of the adventure to
come. Natural materials and dramatic lighting, driftwood details in the
furniture and lighting. Handpicked artifacts such as old snow shoes and
skis decorate the wall. Sturdy materials such as wood, leather and slate. A
deep sea blue adds colour to the natural browns and greys.
Warmth, informal, homey-feel, relaxed, obvious Scandinavian influences in
the materials and custom developed patterns. Open and transparent yet
intimate due to the dividing open bookcases, filled with local objects and
artifacts. Chefs working behind the hot buffet counter in the show kitchen,
staff filling up the platters from behind in the central seafood / cold meats
buffet. Opposite is the wide beverage / desserts buffet. Light wood, dark
green granite and bronze metal creates a warm palette. Daytime the
atmosphere is casual with place mats on exposed, wooden table tops, at
night the tables are covered with white table cloths for a more dressy feel.
An alternative restaurant to the Main Dining, a la carte style. In the center
is a show kitchen bar front with a chalk board style back drop. Pots, pans
and utensils hang on the wall together with fresh herbs, clearly stating
that this is a kitchen in use. A glass walk-in pantry as well as an pizza oven
is also part of the back counter. In the front center of the kitchen bar is an
aquarium with live seafood. A stone floor aisle with wood border leads up
to the kitchen front and divides the room in to two area: Fine Dining on
portside and Bistro on starboard. An all-glass tempered wine cabinet
further acts as a divider of the two areas, however, daytime also the Fine
Dining side is used as a Bistro, where for example pizza and pasta is on
the menu. At night though, the Fine Dining offers the best of local seafood
and meats.
The furniture is a mix of sofas, high - and low back chairs. Tables can be
pushed together for larger groups or kept for two. The colours of the floor
and furniture are dark and deep in the otherwise light room, with views
across the entire width of the ship. Deep blue, burgundy and dark green
together with natural wood and stone. The artwork depicts the landscape
under the surface of the water.
Lounge here, day or night. Feel the warmth of the fire, enjoy a good drink,
play board games with new found friends or just contemplate the beautiful
scenery going by outside. Norwegian Offerdal slate frames the bar and
fireplace, mirroring the landscape outside. Comfortable furniture, some
custom made, makes sure this is an area where you want to spend a lot of
time. Discreet lighting at night not to interrupt the view outside. Drama at
night. Sit on front row seats, watching the magnificent view or in the
centre area with the fireplace and the bar.
Enjoy freshly baked goods, a cup of coffee in a cup and saucer on the
crochet table cloth or even indulge in an ice cream while sitting in a
rocking chair. Look at the cross stitch wall hangings with wise old sayings
and Granny´s treasured pretty porcelain figurines in the wall shelves.
Check if its time for dinner on the traditional Grandpa´s clock. Rest on a
hand-stitched pillow in the Scandinavian wood kitchen sofa. This is a place
to feel at home ! Natural and painted wood on furniture and floor,
combined with rag rug style carpets on the floor.
Fresh, Scandinavian design with functional, smart solutions. A major
update on the cabins. Choose between a double bed, separate beds and
perhaps a family cabin for four. Scandinavian, modern décor with a colour
palette from the sea outside/underneath. Smart solutions with collapsible
desks and bedside tables in some rooms, all offering an in-room TV for
relaxing at night. Wi-fi, electrical outlets in all necessary positions and
good lighting for reading ensures a comfortable, restful bedtime.
Smaller cabins have a turn-around sofa at day time and all smart solutions
which ensures maximum available floor space.
All cabins have extra high beds to allow suitcases to be stored
underneath.
