The business owner of Olifantshoek Trading Enterprises CC
REISA has announced the approval of funding for two local enterprises, namely HGL Energy Solutions (Pty) Ltd and Olifantshoek Trading Enterprise CC. REISA’s programme aims to help facilitate the creation of sustainable economic and job opportunities for the communities of Olifantshoek, Dibeng, Siyathemba, Kathu, Babatas and Mapoteng to achieve greater economic independence.
ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENTGRANT FUNDING
HGL Energy Solutions in Kathu received a grant which was used for various tools
and equipment, training and a vehicle that will be used to enhance the current
service offering.
Olifantshoek Trading Enterprise received funding for machinery, equipment and other
operational requirements.
Both businesses will also benefit from the REISA funded Business Mentoring and Coaching programme.

ECD Flagship Project Helps Parents - Parents of young children across REISA’s beneficiary communities will have the opportunity to participate in an Early Childhood Development (ECD) parental training programme aimed at equipping parents to effectively assist their children with homework and other educational requirements.
Siyawela - Ready to Succeed, has been appointed to roll out the second phase of the ECD Flagship Project during February 2018. The aim of the programme is to help parents support their young children’s education and to better understand their role as a “parent” in boosting their children’s development. 200 parents are targeted to participate in the programme.
SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS:
The chance to apply for next year’s REISA Scholarship Programme ended 31 August 2017. A total of 20 applications were received for various study disciplines and have been shortlisted for one-on-one interviews during October. The successful candidates will be announced at the end of November 2017.

Promoting Girl’s Health Education - The Girl Effect Project is REISA’s annual Women’s Month initiative that promotes Girl’s Health Education at schools within the Gamagara Municipality.
Five schools were targeted during August 2017. The Local Office launched the Project at Sishen Intermediate Mine School, distributing the eco-friendly/green and SABS approved absorbance sanitary packs. Learners were educated on menstrual hygiene and how to use the Subs Sanitary Pack. The Girl Effect Project will reach 2 358 girls in the Gamagara Region during 2017.
