Weekly message from Ms Wakeley-Jones

Hello Enterprise House, I hope this finds you well.I know we experienced a few issues with online learning at the back end of last week which caused some confusion and frustration (and that was just amongst the teachers!) but hopefully things will be restored to normal soon – thanks for your continued patience.Stories in the news may seem a little bleak, what with reports of how long lockdown may last and how full hospitals are – but another glimmer of hope emerged over the weekend when the Modernavaccine was authorised for use. This now means the UK has more vaccines being used than any other country in the world (the Moderna vaccine, the Oxford vaccine and the Pfizer vaccine); it remains for us to be patient.I’d encourage students to enter our Arts Showcase Inter House Competition which is running this half-term and can be entered remotely – details follow.Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.

You can enter this competition remotely by sending photos and videos to houseleaders@cc-hs.com• You could videos of drama, dance or music

performances (either as an individual or with someone in your household)

• Photos can be sent in of drawings, paintings, sculptures, photographs or creative make-up (anything can be a canvas)

• The deadline will be announced at a later date

EVERY TIME YOU ATTEND AN EXTRA CURRICULAR CLUB OR ACTIVITY YOU WILL EARN AWARD POINTS FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR HOUSE.

AT THE END OF THE ACADEMIC YEAR THE HOUSE WITH THE MOST AWARD POINTS WILL WIN THE HOUSE CUP

Mental health during lockdown1. Instead of teaching Yr9 Rotation lessons, Yr9 tutors will use this time to make

welfare calls to their tutees (Tuesday P5 for the B half and Friday P2 for the A half)

2. Pupils in Yr10&11 will be contacted by members of the Pastoral Team3. If you are feeling anxious, stressed, overwhelmed or depressed during lockdown,

or just need someone to talk to – you can contact any member of staff via edulink (including your tutors, HoY, PM and House Leader) or email

5. A new external service has partnered up with us which allows students to log onto a calendar and book themselves in for a 45 minutes session with an external counsellor.

Please make sure that whilst learning from home, you are on time for your lessons.

Tutor period from next week

⋆ Your Tutor Period will start this week. Every Year 9, 10 and 11 will have a weekly lesson with your Form Tutor. This will not be at the same time each week, it will change from week to week so that you do not miss the same lesson each time.

⋆ In this form period you will be taught PSHEE, discuss attendance, uniform, rewards, and behaviour.

⋆ Year 9 will continue to have their scheduled Tutorial.

Please note that during lockdown and online teaching – there will be no tutor periods online, no intervention lessons, no rotation lessons and no core PE.
