Balloon Flight Over Des Moines Monday, July 23 | Rain date Tuesday, July 24 On this one special morning, hot air balloons fly over downtown Des Moines and it’s a sight to behold. Tune in early to Newsradio WHO 1040 with Van & Bonnie for information about launch time/place. You may even win a balloon ride!

Dawn Patrol Dawn Patrol: Saturday, July 28, and Saturday, Aug. 4 A rare flight, not seen very often at hot air ballooning events. Prepare to be awestruck as dark skies come alive with a mystical glow during Dawn Patrol. Bring your flashlight and watch in wonder as Dawn Patrol pilots launch prior to sunrise and fly until it is light enough to land. Secured with specially approved lighting systems, balloons flying in the dark are a rare phenomenon in ballooning. Launch takes place promptly at 5:15 am. Do not be late or you’ll miss it.

Fantastic Fireworks Saturday, July 28 & Saturday, Aug. 4 Spectacular fireworks shows to kick-off, and wrap-up, an incredible 9-days!

A Wacky Classic Parade Saturday, July 28 at 11 AM.Clap, tap, or sing along to the wacky sights and sounds as the parade makes its way through the streets of Indianola including the city square. Plan to make it a day on the square and visit the many unique vendors featuring artisan foods, goods, and one-of-a kind art. Arts and Crafts Show 9 am - 3 pm.
