Institute of Medical Sciences was founded by great visionary Prof KN Udupa. There are three
faculties viz: Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Ayurveda and Faculty of Dental Sciences and one College of
Nursing under Institute of Medical Sciences. There are 44 Departments of broad specialties including
eleven Super SpecialtiesDepartments in the Faculty of Medicine, and 15 Departments in Faculty of
Ayurveda. Sir Sunderalal Hospital attached to Institute of Medical Sciences has 1585 beds. BHU boasts of
having a largest Trauma Centre in country with 334 beds.Both these hospitals provide comprehensive
referral medical and surgical care to the people of this region.
B.Sc. Nursing course (4-yearduration) is running at the College of Nursing and B Pharma (Ayurveda)
(4-year duration) at RGSC Mirzapur under Faculty of Ayurveda. BOT and BPT courses are running in the
Department of Orthopedics. Each course is of four-and-a-half-year duration including six months’
compulsory rotatory internship.

4. Any concealment of facts or giving wrong information in the Application Form or submission of
forged documents shall make the candidature liable to be rejected and the admission to the Course
shall be terminated at any time during the Course oftraining.
5. Banaras Hindu University shall not be bound by any means to provide employment to the candidates
after passingout from respective courses.
1. ELIGIBILITYCRITERIA:
1.1. Nationality: The candidate should be IndianNational
1.2. AGE: The candidates should be between 17 and 25 years of age as on 31stDecember2020.
1.3. For B.Sc. Nursing/ B. Pharma (Ayurveda)/ BOT/BPT courses: Candidates, who are Indian
Citizens and medically fit in all respects i.e. physically and mentally fit, are eligible to apply
for admission to above Courses. Physically Challenged Candidates are not eligible for B.Sc.
Nursing course (As per Resolution No. 67 of the meeting of Academic Council held on 4.6.09
duly approved by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor as a Chairman of Executive Council dt
28.7.2009.However, one seat of BOT/BPT for 3% PC category is reserved in alternate year. In
2020, 1 seat of PC category is proposed forBPT.
PC candidate in BOT/BPT courses should be able to perform job activities required during the
training in BOT/BPT and must have adequate standing balance & his/her extremities functions
should be able to perform required maneuvers adequately, as per BHU medical board.

1.4. QUALIFICATIONS:
Intermediate / 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board / University with minimum of 50%
aggregate marks for the General Category, 40% for OBC (non-creamy layer)/SC/ST/EWS Category,
and 45% for PC in General Category inthe subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Those
who are appearing for the qualifying examination but the results are not yet declared shall be permitted
to appear in the Entrance Test. However, they will be required to submit original mark sheet of the
Intermediate or equivalent examination at the time of counseling to the office of the Director,
Institute of Medical Sciences, BHU, Varanasi–221005, without which their candidature for
admission shall not beconsidered.
2. AVAILABILITY OF APPLICATIONFORMS:
2.1. Applicants have to apply and submit online Application Form available on BHU website i.e.
www.bhu.ac.in/ims.The prescribed Application Form will be available on the websitefrom
10-09-2020(12:00Noon).
2.2. Candidates who have already filled in the application form in response to earlier
advertisement need not apply or pay fees again but they must provide 5 options of centres
(cities) for appearing in test by logging on to www.imsbhu.formzero.in
2.3. Fresh applicants have to register themselves on this site in order to access the Application
Form. To register on this site candidate must have a valid email id.
Therefore,freshapplicants are advised to open an email account in their name, which is
required and is mandatory for registration on the site. After registration on this site, candidate
hasto select B.Sc. Nursing/ B.Pharma (Ayurveda)/ Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT)/
Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) Entrance Test-2020 form and fill details in the respective fields.
Procedure to filling up the application form will be provided in thewebsite.
2.4. The duly completed filled up application form should be accompanied with entrance examination
fee which is Rs.1000.00 for General/OBC category and Rs. 750.00 for SC/ST/PC/EWS category.
Online payment of entrance examination fee can be through Debit card/ ATM, credit card,
Internet banking or through NEFT as per instructionsgiven inwebsite.
2.5. The last date of submission of completed application form through the website is 30-09-2020
(12.00)Noon.
2.6. Provisional Admit Card will be sent on the email id of thecandidate or can be downloaded
from www.imsbhu.formzero.in
3. CRITERIA FOR REJECTION OF APPLICATIONFORM:

4. TOTAL NUMBER OFSEATS IN VARIOUS COURSES:
4.1. FOR B.SC. NURSING COURSE:There are 75 seats with following distribution: 31 seats for
General Category, 20 seats for OBC (non- creamy layer) Category, 11 seats for SC Category, 6 seats
for ST Category,and 7 seats for EWSCategory. Physically challenged candidates are not eligible
for B.Sc. NursingCourse.
4.2. For B. Pharma (Ayurveda), aself-financing course running at the RGSC, Mirzapur.There are 37 seats
with following distribution: 15 seats for General Category, 10 seats for OBC (non-creamy layer)
Category,6 seats for SC Category, 3 seats for ST Category,and 3 seats for EWS Category.
4.3. For BOTCourse (self-financing): There are 25 seats with following distribution: 10 seats for General
Category, 7seats for OBC (non-creamy layer) Category, 4 seats for SC Category, 2 seats for ST
Category, and 2 seats for EWSCategory.
4.4. For BPTCourse(self-financing): There are 25 seats with following distribution:10 seats for General
Category(including 1 seat for PC Category), 7 seats for OBC (non-creamy layer) Category, 4 seats
for SC Category, 2 seats for ST Category,and 2 seats for EWS Category.
4.5. For self-financing courses, candidate has to pay Rs. 50,000 per annum, in addition to regular fees
of the University.

5.1 The University reserves the right to cancel any of the Centers without assigning any reason.
5.2 In case the number of applicants opting for a centre is more than the available infrastructural capacity
for holding Computer Based Test (Online) in the concerned centre, allotment of an alternate centre
will be made, in the order of preference given by the applicant.
5.3 The Centre allotted will be indicated in the Admit Card. Applicants must note that the Examination
Centre once allotted to a candidate shall not be changed. The final decision to allot a Centre to a
candidate shall rest with the University.
5.4 A Centre can be cancelled due to inadequate number of candidates or due to any other cogent reason.
The candidate in such a case shall be allotted another Centre as per his/her preference.
6 The entrance test will be conducted in computer based test(CBT) mode (online
mode) only. Kindly refer to <bhuonline.in> for detailed instructions on
computer based test manual in English and Hindi as well as CBT mock
link.Candidates must familiarize themselves with the procedure of answering
the questions in entrance test using CBT mock link as given in<bhuonline.in>.
7 The question paper will have Multiple Choice Questions(MCQ)with single correct answer.
There will be 100 MCQs with 25 questions each in Physics, Chemistry, Botany & Zoology.Each
question will carry 1 mark (maximum marks 100). There is no negative marking.The duration
of test is 2 hours.
For any confusion regarding the meaning of a question or answer, the English version
shall be deemed as correct.
7.1 Minimum qualifying marks in written entrance examination: The minimum percentage of marks
to qualify the written examination shall be 50% for General category and 40% for OBC (non-
creamylayer)/SC/ST/PC/EWS categories.
7.2 No scrutiny / re-evaluation of the answer sheet shall be allowed on any ground.
7.3 The Roll Number of only Provisionally Selected Candidates shall be displayed on the website
of IMS,BHU (www.bhu.ac.in/ims).
8 The candidates will be selected on the basis of their merit in the Written Entrance Test.In case of
candidates obtaining equal marks in the Written Entrance Test, their inter-se merit shall be decided in
the followingorder:
8.1 Candidates securing higher marks obtained in Zoology section of entrance test
8.2 Candidates securing higher marks obtained in Botany section of entrance test
8.3 Candidates securing higher marks obtained in Chemistry section of entrance test
8.4 Candidates securing higher marks obtained in Physics section of entrance test
8.5 If all above happen to be same, the candidate senior in age would rankhigher

9 ADMISSION:
9.1 The Provisionally Selected Candidates will have to appear before the Admission Committee and
their admission shall be subject to their medical fitness by the Medical Board appointed for the
purpose.
9.2 Candidates who are less than 18 years of age would be required to submit consent of their Parent/
Guardian to join the Course.
9.3 Candidates, if employed, would be required to submit NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE from the
Employerat the time ofadmission.
9.4 The Admission to the Courses shall be subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria as defined above.
The Candidates who are called for Admission on merit must bring with them all the original
certificates, mark sheets, etc. along with two attested photocopies of each and six extra
photographs (as submitted with the application form) for verification by the
AdmissionCommittee.
9.5 The decision of the admission committee shall be final and binding on the candidate in respect of
the Entrance Test and admission to the above courses.
9.6 In case of any dispute, the decision of the admission committee shall be final. However, an appeal
may be made to the Vice-Chancellor, Banaras Hindu University, against such decision. In no case
any candidate shall take recourse to the court of law directly.
9.7 In case of any dispute, Varanasi shall be the site of jurisdiction.
9.8 Mere submission of application, appearing in entrance testor qualifying the test will not entitle a
candidate to claim admission to the course.
9.9 The candidates taking up the Entrance Test will have to make their own arrangements for stay at
examination centre.
9.10 In the event of availability of vacant seats, candidates from the waiting list, if any, will be asked to
join the above Courses on call latest by 07/12/2020(tentatively) and thereafter no candidate will be
admitted even if the seats are vacant in any of thecategories.
10. INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES REGARDINGENTRANCE TEST
10.1 Candidate should report to the examination centre 1.5 hours before starting the entrance test.
10.2 No candidate shall be allowed to appear in the examination unless he/she possesses the valid
ADMIT CARD.
10.3 Candidate must carry a valid proof of identity (original) issued by
Government/School/College.
10.4 The candidate must retain the admit card for appearing before the Admission Committee.
10.5 Candidate will NOT bring any resource material/ loose paper whether written or blank/ Calculators
/Slide rule / Electronic Diary / Pager / Mobile Phone inside the examination room. In case of violation
of this provision his/her candidature shall not be considered.
10.6 No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall after 15 minutes of commencement of

examination. No extra time will be given to candidates who reach late for entrance test.
11. IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES APPEARING IN ENTRANCE TEST
11.1 The candidates shall be compulsorily required to carry their identification document (as provided in
the application process) to the examination centre, for authentication of their identity, alongwith the
Entrance Test Admit Card, failing which such candidate shall not be allowed to enter in the
examination hall.
11.2 The test will start exactly at the time mentioned in the Admit Card and an announcement to
thiseffect will be made by the Centre Superintendent/Invigilator.
11.3 A particular computer will be allotted to every candidate in the entrance test. Candidate
should find out and occupy the allotted computer only. Any candidate found to have changed
room or the computer on his/her own other than allotted, his/her candidature shall be
cancelled.
11.4 No Candidate will be allowed to carry any baggage inside the Examination Centre. The University
will not be responsible for any belongings stolen or lost at the premises.
11.5 No Candidate shall be allowedto leave the Test Hallbefore the end of the Test.
11.6 The Candidatesshall be checked for any resource materials frequently and at random by the
Invigilators and other staff conducting the Test, routinely and also on the slightest doubt.
11.7 Calculators/watch calculators, electronic diary, pager, mobile phones, earphones, alarm clock,
digital watches with memory, slide rule, etc. are not allowed in the examination hall. Also, carrying
of licensed weapons, fire arms, tools which can be used as lethal weapons are not allowed in the
examination hall.
11.8 The Entrance Examination of a candidate shall be cancelled in case of any of the following actions
by a candidate:Relevant or irrelevant resource material or loose paper found on his/her possession,
or, lying on or around his/her seat, Possession of any unauthorized instrument or equipment as
mentioned at (vi) above/document/paper/ information materials or any resource materials,
Communication of information in writing or verbally or exchange of rough sheets to and from any
other person during the Test period and any other malpractice amounting to obtaining undue
advantage, writing anything in the Admit Card, any alterations or corrections in the entries made by
a candidate in Verification Sheet but not duly verified by the invigilator concerned, non-matching
of signature madeat the time of Entrance Test with that already done at the time of filling of
Application Form.
11.9 The Entrance Examination of a candidate shall be cancelled and candidate shall be debarred to
appear from future Entrance Tests in case of any of the following actions by a candidate: tampering
with the Admit Card including that of the photograph, face not resembling the photograph on the

Admit Card, not occupying the allotted seat, tampering/disturbing the seating arrangements,
smuggling-out or smuggling-in, in part or in full test material or any resource material connected
with the Test, making any attempt to influence the University authorities directly or indirectly,
disturbing or trying to disturb the Entrance Test, noting down the questions or their answers,
Shouting of slogans or creating unruly scene at the examination hall/examination centre/University
campus.
11.10 Impersonation is a legally punishable offence. No Candidate will be permitted to appear in the Test
without a valid Admit Card. The Admit Card should be presented to the invigilators/other
authorized officials for verification. The candidate’s identity will be verified in respect of his/her
details on the Admit Card. If the identity is in doubt, the candidate may not be allowed to appear in
the Test. The authorities may at their discretion provisionally permit the candidate to appear in the
Test after completing formalities including taking of thumb impression/several signatures for
further verification. No extra time will be granted for these formalities to be completed.Similarly,
at the time of counselling, the candidate’s identity will be verified from the documents available
with the University and in case of any doubt, his/her admission will be deferred till final
verification.A person found to impersonate a candidate shall be handed over to the Police under an
FIR lodged by the University. The candidate inreference shall be debarred from future Entrance
Tests of the University.A student or employee of the University if found to impersonate in the
Entrance Test will be respectively rusticated or dismissed from the University service.
11.11 Suppression/concealment of information:The candidate must ensure that he/she is qualified to
appear in the Entrance Test. If it is detected at any stagethat he/she did not fulfil the minimum
qualifications, or, there was something against the candidate which would have prevented him/her
from being admitted in the concerned subject/course, or, the candidate has provided false
information or no information about his/her previous involvement in an act punishable under law or
act of gross misconduct and indiscipline, then his/her candidature shall not be considered and his
admission, if already made, shall be cancelled at any stage and he/she shall be debarred from
appearing in any of the future Entrance Tests of the University.
11.12 No person other than the University authorized personnel are permitted to move around the Test
venue. Any unauthorized person loitering around the Test venue shall be handed over to the
police under an FIR lodged by the University.
11.13 No scrutiny/re-evaluation of answer sheet of entrance test is allowed in any case at any
stage.
11.14 The candidate shall be bound by the BHU Statutes/Ordinances/Rules and Regulations framed
from time to time.Any litigation in respect of the entrance test shall be subject to the jurisdiction
