1. Introduction:
Social Awareness and Live Support is a nationally registered NGO/NPO. Established on 1st
October, 2005, by low-income indigenous Tanzanians, with the main aim of improving the
living condition of our people from the lowest level they are, to the highest level they are
dreaming on every day, and protecting the Nature.
We have several programs as shown in our website: http://www.salisu.or.tz
We are based here at Madaba village, Ruvuma region, and southern part of Tanzania.
Madaba is a new district which is situated in Ruvuma region, northern part of Songea district,
southern part of Tanzania 980 Km from Dar es Salaam, with hilly, natural trees, and streams
of water flows from these hills, fertile soil roam soil.

35º 21’ 17” East
Rainfall 1200 mm
Humidity 86%
Wind Run 67Kms per minute
The Madaba people are farmers, most of them are poor, unskilled farmers with very low
education and they lack the knowledge of Environmental Conservation and Organic Farming.
Social Awareness and Live Support is there to improve this bad situation by seeking
assistance from local and experienced overseas experts, volunteers and funds to help to solve
the problem.
We welcome all interested donors to work hand and hand with us so as enabling these
communities have a difference.

2. WHY SOCIAL AWARENESS AND LIVE SUPPORT HAVE PREPARED THIS
PROJECT
Social Awareness and Live Support has prepared this project in order to:
1. Improve the living condition of our people – economically
2. Train the communities about Environmental Conservation and Beekeeping
3. Teach the communities about Organic Farming and Food Security
4. Teach the communities about Nutrition – to better their health
5. To Protect the Nature
6. Teach the communities about better life style
7. The communities will be involved in all activities.
We are sure that this project will benefit the communities and make a difference.

3. STRATEGIC PLAN FOR THIS PROJECT
Social Awareness and Live Support will have Three Phases:
PHASE I: Training communities about Environmental Conservation, Organic Farming and
Beekeeping through Video Show, Seminars and Site visits, and meetings
PHASE II: To prepare tree nurseries, bee hives, organic seeds and supply to the
communities ready for planting in their farms/gardens and Social Awareness and Live
Support to make a follow up.
PHASE III: To train the communities how to harvest and how to keep the harvested
products and then establish a Honey and Beeswax factory and find the market. On this phase
III Social Awareness and Live Support will need to have more experts and technical
assistance from overseas
When Social Awareness and Live Support will get Support from Donors, What is its First
Priority?
If Social Awareness and Live Support will get financial assistance from Donors:
Phase I: Train the communities about Environmental Conservation, Organic Farming, and
Beekeeping – in order to save the Nature, and improve them economically.

4. BUDGET AND EQUIPMENT:
PHASE I: TRAINING AND SEMINARS:
Radio and Accessories for Broadcasting, Speakers, Mice, Projector, and Note books
Writing pens, Brochures and Transport facilities:
Estimate US$5,000
PHASE II: PLANTING TREES, ERECTING BEE HIVES:
Basic Nursery Materials to be purchased, Bee veils, Vegetable seeds, hand hoes, rake,
swords, and safety boosts, helmets, overall, wheel barrows, Water pump, Watering cans, and
water pipes Poly tubes, tree seeds
Estimate US$4,000
PHASE III: HARVESTING AND FACTORY ESTABLISHMENT:
Bee gloves, Honey containers, plastic overall, Social Awareness and Live Support need to
have Technical Assistance on establishment of a Honey Factory and find international markets
for honey and beeswax.
Estimate US$3,000
TOTAL COST WILL BE US$12,000
This is a permanent project and costs vary due to the situation of the project area.

5. CONCLUSION:
So this project will change the whole situation facing the most part of the Madaba
district by introducing tree species that can be mixed with agricultural crops as boost
production of the forest and agricultural crops.
Also this project will help to reduce shift cultivation, fertility of soil and improve
climates for cultivation of various crops.
