Helmets – Thredbo strongly recommends all skiers and snowboarders wear helmets. Helmets are an important safety consideration for all skiers and snowboarders and may prevent or reduce head injuries. Helmets are available to rent or buy from all Thredbo Sports locations.
Trail Signage – You’ll find the trail signs shown in the trail map key at various places on the mountain, they are there for your safety and protection. Please take note of them and obey them, particularly the “Trail Closed” and “Area Boundary” signs.
Tobogganing – Tobogganing and snowtubing are not permitted in Thredbo.

CentreBACKCOUNTRY TOURSLooking for a snow adventure with a difference? This year we have partnered with The North Face to offer Backcountry Tours. Take an out of resort trip into the side and backcountry of the spectacular Main Range. Strap on the snow shoes for a tour around the Ramshead Range or wander longer to the top of Mt Kosciuszko. Split boarders and ski tourers, head high with the backcountry team and make your mark in the chutes and untracked faces of the range. It’s a great way to escape the resort, take in fresh mountain air, enjoy uncrowded slopes (you may not see anyone all day) all with the company of a knowledgeable backcountry expert.Bookings can be made with Thredbo Snow Sports on 02 6459 4044.
THE MOUNTAINThredbo mountain is perfect for anyone. New snow goers will love the purpose built beginners area. Intermediates the long, wide trails with a perfect pitch. Advanced will have a blast on and off the piste on the longest runs in the country.Beginners – Friday Flat is Thredbo’s specifically designed area for beginners. The slope is gentle, the lifts are easy to use and all lessons meet here. It’s the perfect location for your first on snow experience.Intermediates – Around 65% of Thredbo is suited to intermediates. With long and wide tree lined runs all over the mountain it’s the perfect place to cruise. The Cruiser, Basin and Central Spur areas are ideal intermediate locations. Advanced – Experienced riders rate Thredbo’s terrain as the best in the country. With the longest runs, massive fall line, natural wind lips, powder bowls and hectares of off-piste and back country terrain it’s easy to see why.

TOYOTA MOUNTAIN TOURSThanks to Toyota, Thredbo has free two hour mountain tours during July, August and early September. All you need is to be an upper intermediate skier or boarder and have a valid lift pass. Tours start at 11am daily, meet at the top of the Gunbarrel Express.
