"Vinh Long - Tra Vinh 220kV transmission line" pro-jcct is proposed to be built to improve thc 220kV capacity source in order to ensure reliability and saf'cty in powcr supply for power network of Vinh Long and Tra Viilh provinccs.

Beginning from gate tower 220kV of Vinh Long 220kV subsl:ation, the line turns left at G1 to avoid the planned area of Vinh Long township to G2 belonging to Tan Hoa commune, Vinh Long township.

The line goes through paddy field, some fruit-gardens and many canals, ditchs.

The line goes across a transmission line 1 lOkV: 1 time.

At G2, the line turns left a angle of 42'9' to G3 in Long 1-10 district.

Tra Vinh's geographical position limited by 9'3 1'46" to 10°04'5" northern latitude and 10j057' 16" to 106°36'04" longitude.

Tra Vinh province has a total natural area of 2,225 square kilometers, making up 5.63% of the Mekong Delta's area and 0.67% of the country's area. It has a population as more than 1 million.

Vinh Long provincc

Vinh Long's gcographical position liinitcd by 9' 52' 45" to 10" 19' 50" norlhcrn latitude and 104" 41' 25" to 106" 17' 00" longitude.

Viilh 1,ong province has a total natural area of 147,519ha. It has a population as 1.020 illilliorl persons.

b. 1 Telnpcrature

The Incan teinpcraturc is 2 6 . 6 ' ~ ; the differcncc betwcen day and night is 6 . 4 ' ~ . -1 cmpcrature in the area is rclativel>. cquable. 'Thcre is no obvious division of four seasons in the year, but that of two scasons, dry season and rainy season, is clear cut.

b.2 Sailor radiation

The area has a high proportion of sunny hours: 7.7 hours per day, and there is rich photosynthesis radiation: 82,800 cal/ycar, and this helps plants grow fist all the year round.

b.3 Humidity

The yearly average huinidity ranges froin 80% to 85%. The change tends to take place according to that of seasons nainely in dry season: 79% and in rainy season: 88%. The monthly average humidity in the year rcaches 90%.

b.4 Wind

There are two main directions of wind in the area:

- South western monsoon coming from the sea bearing a lot of water vapour thus causing a lot of rain during the period froin May to October.

- North-eastern or south-eastern inonsoon normally comes during the period froin November this year to March next year.

b.5 Hoarfrost

Hoarfrost often takes place during the period from December to February just because of the effect of the following factors: the high humidity at the end of the rainy season combined with the lowest temperature of the year, and the north- eastern or south-eastern monsoon.

b.6 Evaporation

'The amount of evaporation in the area is high, with an average of 1293 inm/year. In the dry season the evaporation is high, especially in sand dune and coastal areas and, about 130- 150 mm/north, often causing drought in this regions.

b.7 Rain

The average rainfall is low (1588 - 1227 inin) unstably and eason proportionally distributed.

AS to the economic slructurc in 2005: asriculture increased 55.82%. trade-service 26.54% and industry 17.64%. Thus, the economic structure of thc area has bcen dcvcloping in both agriculture and trade-sen~icc but has not in industry over thc last few years.
