DFO, Shamshi has been again requested to submit a comprehensive proposal on the conservation of Betula Alnoides species. The proposal is still awaited.

The machinery being used for the project work is fully mollified. Regular checks are being made to limit their noise level as per the pennissible limits notified by the manufacturer.
Labours has been made aware of conservation during the celebration of Environment Day, World Water Day etc. Notice board has been placed near labour camp. 3 Nos. check post has been maintained near the project site and l 5 Nos. of Home Guards bas been deployed in these check pots. The main duty of these home guards is to check all illegal activities in the GHNP area.

Bed & Beddings and kitchen utensils have been provided for the home guards. An amount of Rs. 48,07,000/- has been deposited with DFO, Shamshi for maintenance of labour shed, construction of kitchen, toilet bath and water suppiy fitting etc. during August. 2012 for the execution of check posts (FC-I). Emergency light, High Beam torches, Search light has been provided to the forest department for the working of check posts

5 Environmental Contractor Management in Labor Camps

The labour camp has been constructed at Jangla near Adit - II by the contractor.

All the parmneters were monitored which is under control and the reports are being maintained. An expenditure of Rs.109, 755/- has been done by the contractor for the construction of new septic tank maintenance of septic tank in the labour camp during the repotting period.

Secretary, PWD has accorded his consent for handing over of road from Suind to Neuli road to HPPCL. The balance work of improvement of road has been taken up by HPPCL work is in progress.

Monitoring for the 3rd quarter of 2014 has been carried out by Startech Labs, Hyderabad in the month of Sept and the report is attached as Annexure EMR-lU.
At all the lucations the level of the ajr, water aand noise quality parameters have been observed to· be within the limits as per CPCB nonns.

Green belt around the periphery reservoir rim will be developed through Forest Department.

.»- Maintenance of construction equipment is being carried out regularly.
? Provision of ear plug /ear muff has been made to the labourers.
};- Noise level monitoring is being carried out by H.P. State Pollution Control Board once in every three months at the m11:jor construction sites.
The sedimentation/ settling tanks have been provided for the batching plant near Power House, Adit - J and Adit-3, in all the tunnels and also for vehicle washing ramps. Regular monitoring of water quality is being done by HP SPCB. Annexure is attached as EMR-IV.
