• ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY DEVELOPMENT OF ENERGY MANAGEMENT
Objectives:1. Increase the use of electricity generated from renewable
energy sources. (final goal: 3.6% by 2010) The promoted use of renewable energy sources will help to develop the existing network, achieve a substantial reduction in carbon dioxide emissions and encourage economic development in rural areas.
2. Increase of conscious and rational energy use and decrease of emissions causing air pollution.
Components:1. Increasing the use of the renewable energy resources - 60%2. Increasing energy efficiency - 40%
![Page 5: Environmental Protection and Infrastructure Operational Programme Tímea Baán EIOP Managing Authority Ministry of Economy and Transport](https://reader036.vdocument.in/reader036/viewer/2022083007/56649e685503460f94b64e70/html5/thumbnails/5.jpg)
Supported activities:
Increasing the use of renewable energy resources:
1. Establishment of capacities aimed at the supply and transformation of fuels required for the operation of equipment producing renewable energy; (wood waste system, pellet system, baling equipment, plant oil pressers, etc.)
2. Facilitating investments based on use of a significant capacity from renewable energy sources with the participation of local inhabitants and/or actors of the market (biomass, geothermal, solar, wind, and low-performance hydroelectric power plants);
3. Public investments; establishing circular biomass or geothermal district heating systems in small settlements; utilisation of depony gas.

Supported activities:
Increasing energy efficiency : 1. Energy efficiency developments of the local authorities; modernisation of
the energetics of buildings, institutions, modernisation of district-heating supply, cogeneration (CHP).
2. Energy efficiency developments of small and medium sized enterprises; modernisation of the energetics of buildings, co-generation, modernisation of technology, utilising heat from landfill wastes, in case of district heating manufacturers and services modernisation of district heating systems.
