Environmental Remediation In-Situ Chemical Oxidation Injection System Numac’s environmental remediation leads the way in providing innovative, technologically advanced in- situ chemical oxidation/reduction injection systems. With intimate understanding of the complex challenges presented by cleaning up a variety of contaminants from soil and groundwater, our team has drawn upon its wealth of knowledge and experience to develop and establish in- situ remediation techniques that provide the most efficient, cost-effective solutions to meet client requirements. Injection System Capabilities: • Mobile skid-mounted unit on a truck carrier can be positioned anywhere on site; • Injection is possible up to a range of 90m from the injection pump; • Ability to inject simultaneously in multiple locations; • Multiple types of chemicals can be mixed in large volume batches simultaneously; • Injection can be achieved using a wide variety of pressure ranges, from 20psi through to 650psi, lithology dependent; • 360 degree horizontal injection can be achieved or the conventional disposable tips can be utilised; and • Injection can be achieved via existing monitoring wells using nitrogen filled packers (straddle packers optional) or via injection rods.

Injection Methodology

• Studyingthepreliminarysiteinvestigationwillprovidethemodel of the groundwater, the extent of the plume and lithologypermeability.FromthisinformationanISCOorISCRremediation plan can be created.

• Ifwellsaretobeusedtoinjectthemedia,allwellsshouldbe placed up gradient of the groundwater flow, allowing the injection and natural flow to disperse the remediation chemical through the established pathway of the contaminant. This method minimises the required number of injection wells to be installed, and becomes a cost-effective solution. (This method favours rock formations, or ground too hard to push an injection probe through).

• Ifthegroundisnothard,aninjectionprobecanbeinsertedtothe required depth of the plume and the remediation chemical can be injected without having to install a well. This method allows for more injection locations and is considerably more cost-effective.

• Positivedisplacementpumpsareusedtodelivertheremediation chemical into the plume. This pulsating action of the pump has been known to deliver the remediation chemical more efficiently into the contaminated formation. This type of technology has been used throughout the oil and gas industry for years.

• Theselectionoftheremediationchemicalisparamountasthiswill determine the success of the project. Numac’s technical relationships with key suppliers is critical to a successful pilot trial which ultimately leads to successful full scale projects.
