CARBON NEUTRALITY BY 2050
Prime Minister SUGA pledged a policy statement, “Carbon Neutrality by 2050” in October 2020:“Japan is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.”
More than 100 countries have been committed to carbon neutrality by 2050, which has covered about 20% of total global CO2 emissions.
Whole markets in the world will be affected through global supply chain.

JOINT CREDITING MECHANISM (JCM)
To contribute to sustainable development in partner countries through accelerating climate change mitigations and disseminating advanced low carbon technologies and knowhow from Japan; and
To contribute to achieving global targets specified by the Paris Agreement through promoting bilateral mitigation actions.
