Defining an ”Age”
so many words in the Bible are mistranslated by such words as “eternal,” “forever,” “ever and ever” when in actual fact the original word did not mean that at all.
αιωσιν= Periods of Timeaion
The Two-Age Model
“this age”,
the “ages to come”.
Matthew 12:32 "Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him,
either in this age or in the age to come.

not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

αιωσιν aion
It is sometimes translated world; world represents a period or a series of periods of time. See Matt 12:32; 13:40,49; 1 Cor 1:20; 2:6; Eph 1:21.
Mat 13:40 Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the close of the age.
(Mat 12:32) And whoever says a word against the Son of man will be forgiven; but whoever speaks
against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.
Mat 13:49 So it will be at the close of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous,
1Co 1:20 Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?
1Co 2:6 Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away.
1Co 2:7 But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glorification.

God therefore is described as the God of the aeons, the God who pervaded and controlled those periods before the incarnation.

We reach our hands up in faith, and God reaches down to us with His great grace.

Saved BY Grace, THROUGH Faith, UNTO Good Works
How far do you agree with these statements?
1. The "good works" of unsaved people are "dead", and are as "filthy rags" to God.
2. We are under Satan's control until we are spiritually reborn through faith in Jesus.
3. We are saved by faith and grace, not works. Good works after our spiritual rebirth signifies true faith.
4. God is not impressed by the "good works" and prayers of non-Christians.
5. We are not to admire the sincerity and zeal of those in non-Christians religions. We are to avoid participating in their efforts. Rebuke them sharply
