Church of the Advent Search Committee

Your Search committee, Sandee Ragl, Art McCamey, Mike Quinn, Ande Bauzenberger,

Bill Baio, Bob Lumpp and Ron Traynor are working very hard for you.

Please pray this prayer for them.

Gracious God,

Call on them with your grace and renew them daily in peace and hope as they

work to call a Rector.

May they count on the prayers of all members of this community of faith to up hold them.

Just as we trust in your Spirit to guide them.

Amen

The church has formed a Disaster & Emergency Response

Team to address the needs of our parishioners in the event of

a hurricane or other natural disaster. It is important that all

parishioners know that the church has developed an

emergency plan to help everyone stay safe if we have a

hurricane or natural disaster. We want to create a contact list

of individuals willing to provide a room in their home to

assist a person who needs a safe place to stay during a

hurricane or other emergency situations and a list of

individuals who would participate in contacting those who require shelter. Here is the

following information we are gathering:

• Names & phone numbers of parishioners who would be willing to open their homes to a

person who needs help and to state whether you would or not accept a pet if they had one.

Please contact Laura Hackney our Parish Administrator at 772-283-6221 or email her

[email protected] or contact Debra Lammie at her home phone 772-288-

4491 or email her at [email protected].

• Names & phones numbers of parishioners who are willing to participate in a phone chain

to contact & check on the status of those who require assistance.

Please pray about how you can assist in securing the church grounds and help the

parishioners in case of an emergency situation.

Tremendous Success Achieved with School Supply Drive for Crystal Lake Elementary

The School Supplies Drive for Crystal Lake Elementary was a tremendous success this year due to the generous donations and support from our parishioners. Thanks to your contributions of monetary donations of $585 we were able to purchase 16 backpacks, 27uniform school shirts & 13 pairs of uniform shorts, 8 uniform skirts, 6 packs of underwear, 6 packs of socks as well as great supply of basic school materials that were donated during our annual school drive. The school staff was excited and very appreciative to receive the requested supplies that will be given to their most needy students. Church of the Advent, through outreach missions like this one, continues to extend a hand to the community to assist those in need while sharing God’s love and making a difference in their life.

The day has come, prayers answered. It’s the 2nd first day of

school for me. First, regular school on August 13th and now SUNDAY SCHOOL on

September 16th. I’m surprised I am a little giddy. As I prepare and plan, I am

excited for all the opportunities to touch and change the lives of our

youth. Hopefully to help them see the love of the GOD in their lives

everywhere, to give them tools to face the hard things they will bounce into as

they grow. The Sunday school teachers and I will help them understand a main

topic in the lessons, know the “Episcopalian Way’ , and participate in mission

projects. We will help them take the “Sonshine” out into their world. Please get

to know our youth and their families. I plan to have their names and photos in

the October Angelus. Please let me know if you wish to join in the fun and team.

Yours in Christ,

Dorcas Boucher
