Thursday, September 16 is our School Picture Make-Up Day, and Tuesday, October 19 as our School Picture Re-Take Day.

Eppler Chess Club
Chess Club We are the Eppler Elephants and we stomp on the
competition!!
Chess club is a great way to meet new friends and to be
a part of the Eppler Community! Chess will also foster
critical thinking and problem solving skills! There are
numerous studies linking learning to play chess with
increased academic achievement.
Chess club is open to all students in grades 7-9.
We meet every Monday morning with Coach Burnham for practice.
Tournaments are on select weekends, and while participation is encouraged, it
is not mandatory. Chess Club will begin September 20 at 7:00 AM in the
media center. Chess club will meet once a week on Monday mornings from
7-7:45 AM.
Fees: $20.00 yearly dues, and any individual tournament entry fees (team
entry fees are covered by the school).

PowerSchool/Unified Classroom, the school district’s student information system, is used to schedule, take attendance, store grades, and produce transcripts, report cards, progress reports, and more. Student report cards and progress reports will be email through this system. PowerSchool is resources for parents that are accessible through its new Unified Classroom. PowerSchool’s Unified Classroom is replacing the traditional Parent Portal. It is filled with helpful, new features such as attached assignments, enhanced communication tools, and convenient Naviance sign-on for secondary parents.

NJHS – Planet Green Fundraiser
Thank you to all who have donated to Planet Green! We have raised over $400 over the last couple of years by recycling used ink cartridges and electronics! Planet Green is no longer accepting used electronics. They are only accepting ink cartridges. Please continue to send those into Mrs. Byron in room 19! Thank you! NJHS is doing a yearlong fundraiser with Planet Green. Please send in Inkjet cartridges (NO toner or laser cartridges) to room 19. NJHS sends them to Planet Green, and then Planet Green sends Eppler a check! This fundraiser helps the environment and our school! NJHS members can receive one hour for every 5 items, but everybody is encouraged to participate! There is no start or end date– keep bringing these items in!
Naviance
Utica Community Schools has partnered with Naviance to provide a variety of tools for achievement through academic, career and college planning. These tools are located in Naviance Student, a website for students and families to access online resources, communicate with school staff and work on college and career readiness activities with your school and family.
