Go to “Printer” tab. Make sure that “Super A2 17x24 in” is selected for Media Size. Go to “Color” tab. Make sure your newly created MIM is selected. Go to “Advanced Settings”. Change to “Profiles” tab and check if only your *.ccx is applied (output profile should be greyed out). Under “Print Mode” tab, “Send data in BGR order” must be selected. Check the “Printer properties”. They should be the same as you set them up before. Confirm everything with “OK”. Right click the job and choose “Print” or drag the job up to the print queue. Change print queue to “Start”.

The Epson Print Preview opens. The print should now be checked visually. The settings on the right should also match those that were made previously. If the dimensions are not quite correct or parts of the image have been cut off, try enabling or disabling "Auto Rotate" and "Save Roll Paper". You can find these settings in the bottom right. If everything looks good, click "Print". Please do not use the “Reduce/Enlarge” function.

Proceed further in the profiler. Repeat the steps from the Linearization Target for all targets that you print from now on. Stop the targets in the print queue, drag them down to the job queue. Check the media size and color settings for the job. Important for the Profile Target: No profile must be selected in the Advanced Color Settings for the job under "Profiles". Deactivate this by clicking the icon next to it.

If you want to know more about the steps in the Profiler Assistant, use the online help (F1) or download the Profiler Guide from our website. (make sure you are logged in) https://support.colorgate.com/colorgate.rip/en/download/documentation/

3. Job Settings Open the job in Productionserver. Click it with the right mouse button and go to "Settings".

Change to the “Printer” tab. Choose the media size which aligns with your sheet or fits best on your roll paper size, e.g. “Super A2” for 17 inch roll media.

Select the "Color" tab and choose the MIM that matches the print to be made. Go to the “Advanced Settings”.

Page 19: Epson SC-F500 Windows Driver - Colorgate...How to use Productionserver with Epson SC-F500 Windows Driver FW LS02JC 05022020 Steven Waites Technical Support Engineer 1. Connection and

Make sure “Send data in BGR order” is selected. (This should be stored to the MIM settings). Check the “Printer properties” for paper size, color (no adjustment), cut, mirror, auto rotate and so on. Confirm everything with “OK”. Drag the job to the print queue or right click -> “Print”.

Control the print in the Epson Print Preview. You can adjust the settings on the right-hand side. Sometimes “Auto Rotate” and “Save Roll Paper” do not deliver the best output. Try to select and deselect these options. As soon as you are satisfied with the result, click “Print”. Please do not use the “Reduce/Enlarge” options.

4. Container Settings You may need to use a template to align the print on your transfer system. If so, it makes sense to use a container. For the individual jobs, proceed as in Chapter 3 (Determine Media Size, Select MIM, Check BGR order and Printer Properties).

Select both jobs (template and design), right click the selection and go to “Container” -> “Create Container”.

If you use the container in the Profiler (Chapter 1), it can happen that the preview of the Linearization/Profiling Target is not generated and then cannot be seen in the Container Preview. Click on the job which contains the target and select "Regenerate Prieview". Continue.

Page 21: Epson SC-F500 Windows Driver - Colorgate...How to use Productionserver with Epson SC-F500 Windows Driver FW LS02JC 05022020 Steven Waites Technical Support Engineer 1. Connection and

Make sure that the template is the first job in the list. Click “OK”.

In the tab "Printer" the media size should correspond to the individual job settings. Within the "Container" tab "Use fixed container size" -> "Use media size" should be selected. Click “Ok”.

Page 22: Epson SC-F500 Windows Driver - Colorgate...How to use Productionserver with Epson SC-F500 Windows Driver FW LS02JC 05022020 Steven Waites Technical Support Engineer 1. Connection and

The preview should look like this. Double click it to enter the container settings.

Page 23: Epson SC-F500 Windows Driver - Colorgate...How to use Productionserver with Epson SC-F500 Windows Driver FW LS02JC 05022020 Steven Waites Technical Support Engineer 1. Connection and

Now select and drag the image/design onto the template. If the image/design needs to be rotated, select "Edit" -> "Rotate" -> "90°" in the toolbar. Confirm your settings with the green tick.

The container should now be checked in Epson Print Preview. Try different settings (select/deselect “Save Roll Paper” and “Auto Rotate”) until you are happy with the result. Do not use the “Reduce/Enlarge” settings. Click “Print”.
