CREATE A SAVED SEARCH

Within the career fair database, you can track your students’ activity and see what positions they have applied to. To easily access your students within the database, you can create a “Saved Search” which acts as a bookmark to allow you to easily find all your students. To create a Saved Search, select the Students tab and choose the Students option.

This will take you to a list of every student who has ever created an account in our database. To find students from your school, select the Basic Search tab on the left-hand side. The list will expand and show you several filters you can select to find specific students. Select Law School.

Once you select Law School, a pop-up window will appear asking you to select which law school you would like to filter your search by. After selecting your school, press the Search button to see your results.

Your filtered search results will appear in the MATCHED tab in the student section. To see which students have logged in recently, you can click Last Update to adjust the field so that the students who have most recently updated their accounts appear at the top of the list.

Now that you have selected your filters, you can save this search result to easily find it going forward. To do that, select the gray Save Search button on the right. A pop-up window will appear where you can select Save As New Search.

To access this filtered search result again, under the Students tab select Saved Searches & Agents. This will display a list of all your saved searches. Select the name of the search result you would like to access in order to view the updated results.

When you select the saved search, it will show you how many student profiles fit that

criteria in the “Matched” box on the left. If you would like to add more filters to this search (e.g. see how many 1Ls are in the system), you can add more search criteria by selecting the relevant fields in the Search Categories section. Any filters you add will display on the left-hand side. To remove filters, select the relevant filter and press the Remove Selected button.

To view the students that appear according to your filters, select View Results and you will see a list of students.

VIEW AN INDIVIDUAL STUDENT’S ACTIVITY

To view an individual student’s activity, select their name to access their profile. To see if they have registered for this year’s Conference and Career Fair, you can select View Signups under the Action tab.

Once there, select Career Fair Signup and choose the FROM date (8/14/2020) and the THROUGH date (current date). Press Submit to confirm whether they have registered.

To see everything a student has ever done in the database, you can go to the Activity tab on their profile. Under Transaction Type(s), type OCR into the filter box and press the blue button to filter. The system will automatically select every filter that has “OCR” in its title. Finally, confirm the transaction dates are accurate and press Submit. The data will appear below the Submit button and will display every action the student has made related to applying for positions and signing up for prescheduled interviews.

The following will help you interpret the search results for each OCR filter:

OCR – Added to ResDrop List Student has applied to the position listed in the row.

OCR – Added to Schedule Student has signed up for an interview timeslot. If this is repeated for the same job it means the student switched timeslots.

OCR – Added to Waitlist Student was added to the waitlist for an interview.

OCR – Change Alternate Rank Student’s rank in the list of alternates was altered (this could be because an accepted student declined the interview invite, moving everyone on the waitlist up one position).

OCR – Email All – Alternate List Student was notified of “Alternate” status for job application.

OCR – Email All – Invite List Student was notified of “Invited” status for job application.

OCR – Email All – Not Invited List Student was notified of “Not Invited” status for job application.

OCR – Email All – Schedule Student was notified about the interview schedule for that position.

OCR – Invite Response Changed Student accepts invitation from employer to interview (e.g. “No Response to Accepted”).

OCR – Invite Status Changed Student’s status for an application has changed (e.g. status changed to “Invited”).

OCR – Promoted from Alternate List Student is moved from an alternate list to “Invited” list.

OCR – Removed from ResDrop List Student withdrew application for position.

OCR – Removed from Schedule Student withdrew from interview timeslot.

/ Create a Report of Registered Students

The system will also allow you to create a report of all the students who have registered in our system for the 2020 Conference and Career Fair. To create this report, you need to select Career Fair Setup for Students under the Events and Interviews tab.

Once there, select 2020 Equal Justice Works Conference and Career Fair.

You will then select the Student Signups tab and press Export to export a list of all the students who have registered for the event. When you are exporting this data,

you will want to ONLY select the following categories under the Columns from Student Responses list:

▪ First Name ▪ Last Name ▪ Law School ▪ Class Year and/or Graduation Year

Once you’ve selected the above filters, press Export to generate an Excel spreadsheet. To find out which of your students are on this list, you will need to filter the data in

the Excel document. To do this, highlight all the data in your spreadsheet by pressing the letter “A,” holding down your mouse button, and moving it until you reach the last column that includes data. Once you’ve made your selection, navigate to the Data tab and select Filter. You will know your data has been properly filtered once an arrow appears next to the column title.
