Equipment : single needle lockstitch, double needle lock stitch,

overlook or safety stitch, single needle lock stitch with

variable top and bottom feed.

Material : Cloth materials thick to thin.

Other accessory : Needle in different size. (Size 8, 9, 10, 12, 14)

Procedure : Produce samples using sewing equipment following

facts to be considered.

a) Thread tension stroke of the take up spring.b) Pressure of the presser foot.c) Height of the feed dog.d) Feed dog type.e) Feeding System.

EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGYPROCEDURE

First we measure values in the single needle lock stitch machine

using tension gauge set .then sew sample& measure. After sew correct

sample 7then measure new values. many different items need to be

adjusted to properly adjust the sewing machine we have devolved a

measuring tool set which consist of three different kind of measuring

tools used to adjust the three easiest adjustment factors such as needle

thread tension, bobbin thread tension & properly adjusting these three

adjusting items.To use the pressure measuring jig, a bar tension gauge

(separately available) is necessary in addition.

EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGYNeedle Thread Tension Measuring Tool

a)Set the Needle thread tension measuring tool to the position, asillustrated in the figure, on the machine head.

b)Turn the pulley until the needle bar is brought to the highestposition of its stroke. Now, draw the thread through between arm

thread guides A 1 and thread take up lever 2, and pass the thread

on thread guide 3 and movable lever 4 of the needle thread tension

measuring tool. At this time, take care not to allow the drawn

thread to come in contact with tension nut no 5.

c)Slowly pull down thread 6 at this side of the needle. Now, readscale value 7 indicated on the needle thread measuring tool. This is

the needle thread tension.

d)Observing the scale, adjust the thread tension by turning tensionnut 8. Turning the nut in direction g will decrease the needle thread

Tension.

Bobbin Thread Tension Measuring Tool

a)Set bobbin case 1 in which a bobbin is placed in predeterminedposit6ion 2 as it is set in the hook. At this time, securely fit the

bobbin case until it clicks.

b)Pass the bobbin thread along the predetermined thread path in theorder of A. B & C.

EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGYc)Pull the thread in direction D. now read scale value 3 indicated on

the bobbin thread tension measuring tool. This is the bobbin thread

tension.

d) To adjust the bobbin thread tension, pass driver 4 in direction Euntil the top end of the driver reaches tension adjusting screw 5. Confirm

that the top end of the driver has reached the screw, adjust the bobbin

thread tension by turning the driver while pressing it. Turning the driver

in direction f will decrease the bobbin thread tension.

Pressure Adjusting Ruler

a)Set the Pressure adjusting ruler to the side of presser regulator.b)The scale value indicated on the ruler when the tongue 2 is pleased

on the top of presser spring regulator 1 , which is taken as

reference of the presser.

c)Loosen nut 3, & turn presser spring regulator 1 in direction A todecrease the presser foot presser.

Presser measuring jig

a)Set the Presser measuring jig in place taking screw 1 in thepresser foot as fulcrum. Now, confirm that support 2 is

securely fixed.

EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGYb)Turn the pulley to make the feed dog comes down under the

surface of the throat plate. Now ,put a bar tension gauge

c)( separately available) through loop of string 3 and slowly lift thetension gauge 4 in direction H. Read the scale value indicated ontension gauge when top end 5 of the presser foot is twice as high

as the scale value.

d)Refer to the description of the presser measuring jig for how toadjust the pressure of the presser foot.
