Model Number 151 Gooseneck Free Vent is the most economical type of free vent, which is generally used on non-evaporating liquid storage tanks. Free Vents allow effi cient fl ow capacity to prevent the built up extreme internal (positive or negative) pressure by allowing atmospheres and vapors to fl ow freely in and out of tanks. They are designed to protect the breathing vents against outside particles such as dust, wind, rain, and insects. They are typically mounted to a fl ange or pipe, which connects the vapor space of a storage tank.

Model Number 210 Gauge Hatch (with lock) is a safety device with a cover structure that is generally mounted to roof fl anges, which connect the vapor hole of a storage tank. Gauge Hatches are designed to enable quick access to the tanks for hands-free and manual product gauging, sampling and temperature measurement. Gauge Hatches padlock design also prevents unauthorized tank access. Model Number 400 Emergency Relief Vent is a safety device that operates during the emergency moments when regular pressure vacuum vents cannot function. Basically, Model Number 400 protects the tank against the incidents of rupture or internal pressures that are caused by fi re exposure and so forth. They also provide easy access into the tank.

They are typically mounted to a fl ange, which connects the vapor space of a storage tank. Vents can be set to your specifi cations so that the housings open when specifi c pressure and vacuum levels are reached.

Emergency Pressure Relief Valve (Weight Loaded)

Model Number 400 Emergency Pressure Relief Valve operates in the last resort when a vessel or storage tank is exposed to a large-scale fi re, and the standard pressure relief valve has failed to open or cope with the extreme conditions. Designed to open in the event of high pressure, the set-pressure should be chosen to be above that of the pressure or pressure-vacuum relief valve. When the set-pressure is reached, the vent cover rises suffi ciently to dissipate the pressure in the tank. The weight-loaded emergency pressure relief vent is installed in the horizontal plane on a fl ange at the top of the tank. A secondary use of the unit is to access the tank for product sampling or depth gauging.

Emergency Pressure Relief Valve (Spring Loaded) Model Number 420 Emergency Pressure Relief Valve is designed to operate in the last resort in the event that the conventional pressure-vacuum relief valve has failed to operate. The closure lid is retained in position by a calibrated coil spring. A build up of pressure in the tank will overcome the resistance of the spring and the weight of the closure cause it to open suffi ciently to allow the internal pressure to dissipate, thereby preventing the risk of tank rupture or explosion. It will close automatically when the internal pressure is reduced.

Manhole Cover (Quick Opening Type)Model Number 410 Manhole Cover (Quick Opening Type) StorageTech™’s Manhole Cover has a variety of uses within the petro-chemical industry, farming, storage and general manufacture. The Model 410 Manhole Cover is a fl ange-mounted unit that, as well as allowing the loading of powders, pellets and liquids, it provides access for cleaning the empty vessel. The hinged cover has an ‘O’ ring seal, and is latched down with a locking-screw to prevent unauthorized access. It is installed in the vertical plane at the top of the vessels and storage tanks.

To protect the tank during operating cycles, ERGIL StorageTech™ has developed a full range of spring and weight-loaded pressure-vacuum relief valves (PVRV), fl ame arresters, gauge hatches, and roof manholes. Replacing the open vents on a fi xed roof vertical tank with PVRVs enables the internal tank pressure to remain equal to the external atmospheric pressure.

This alone would cut the loss of product by 30%, and depending on the location of the tanks, the vent can be equipped with a fl ame arrester or the discharged emissions piped to a vapour collection tank or fl ared to atmosphere. Both are features that will enhance safety, and improve the profi tability of the terminal.
