Today we are going to present an old building from

our hometown.

This house was built in 1955, and in 2013 the house was totally renovated.

This is the house in its old condition, the door on the right on the picture was of solid oak without gasket so there was a big loss of energi.

There was no air coming in between the cladding and the wind barrier which caused the cladding to rot.

Pretty much all of the houses in Mosjøen who was built in the early 1950’s were built in this kind of style.

New electrics has been installed, and the lighting both inside and outside has been exchanged with LED lighting.

Old oil furnace that sent heated air to all the rooms have been replaced with a new ventilation with heat recovery.

There has also been installed a air to air heat pump which mainly stands for heating and cooling of the whole house.

All the windows on the house were an early form of double paned windows. By now all the windows are exchanged with triple paned windows, except the ones in the foundation.

The walls were built with 1st generation insulation, sewn mats wich consisted of 5 centimetres of glass wool insulation.

The roof, floor seperation, and the groundfloor was insulated with 20centimetres of glass wool insulation.

In the walls the insulation was exchanged with 10 centimetres of rockwool, fiberboard insulation, soft wind barrier and new horizontal wood cladding was added.

The foundation does also have a lot of cracks in it, which means it have to be reinsulated to prevent the major energi loss.

Thank you for

listening!
