Not Returning in 2017?
We will start to organise classes soon for 2017. If you are moving and will not be returning in 2017, please advise the office as soon as possible.
Walking Excursion Year 1
Both Year 1 classes will be attending a walking excursion around the local Beresfield area on Monday 19th September, 2016. This walking excursion supplements our unit of work on Families Past and Present. Students will be visiting a number of places including the park, library and Tarro Reserve to observe the features of these important places in their community. We are very excited and look forward to a lovely day experiencing Beresfield.
We’re holding the adidas School Colour FunRun as a major fundraising event this year! The event will be held on Tuesday 1st November, 2016! This is a sponsorship based fundraiser, and we’re looking to raise $10,000, so all help is appreciated!
The School Colour Fun-Run promotes healthy and active lifestyles to our students in a fun and engaging way! It’s all about participation and we’re organising a great day for our school community. Family support is key to our fundraising success and we encourage all students to get involved.
Keep your eyes peeled for the sponsorship forms which will be sent home with your child. Students who raise just $10 or more will receive a reward for effort. In the Sponsorship Form you will also find many other benefits like the chance to win a Samsung Tablet every week!
The adidas School Fun-Run is a healthy fundraiser that ensures all schools have a
viable alternative to junk food fundraising. The event sends the right message to students about having fun while getting involved and being active.
We’re firm believers in the fact that exercise and nutrition are an important part of our students’ lives, both in the lead up to as well as after this event. We encourage you to visit the Bupa Training Hub, accessible through your child’s online profile. The Training Hub has been developed by Bupa Australia especially for the School Fun Run program, and is packed full of training tips, guidance on exercise and nutrition, as well as delicious and healthy recipes for your family to try. Check it out today:

Thanks for supporting your child’s wellbeing and our school in raising money towards essential playground equipment and Year 6 Farewell Dinner.
Father's Day Breakfast
What a lovely morning we had last Friday celebrating our wonderful Fathers. Thank you to the P & C who were here manning the BBQ from 6.15 and the many staff and the three interns who also helped with cooking and serving. A special thank you to the Dad's who found time to attend and participate. Apparently the soccer game was a very close game, not sure if there was a winner! However the winner of the paper plane competition was Brad Johnson with 15.75m, father of Tyler and Cameron. David Werner's record for distance still stands.

Getting ready for
We would love to know what you think!
In the next few weeks, our school is participating in the Tell Them From Me parent survey on student engagement. The survey asks parents and carers questions about different factors that are known to impact on student wellbeing and engagement.
Running this survey will help our school understand parents’ and carers’ perspectives on their child’s experience at school. This valuable feedback will help our school make practical improvements.
The survey is conducted entirely online at home or on public computers. The survey will typically take 15 minutes or less to complete and is completely confidential. The parent survey will be conducted from now till 21 October. Participating in the survey is entirely voluntary, however, your responses are very much appreciated.
