ABSTRACTThe annual report of the University System of Georgia
identifies major commitments and activities, describes the system'sseven-year plan and summarizes its financial status. The report begins with alist of members of the Board of Regents, messages from the chairman of theBoard of Regents and the system Chancellor, and a list of system institutionsand their presidents. The next section describes achievements and activitiesrelated to the system's emphasis on service and accountability. It discussesteacher preparation programs, system participation in economic development,system response to technology shortages, approval of a new capital prioritylist, new presidents, honorary degrees awarded, and naming of facilities. Thefollowing section introduces the current seven-year plan; it includes thesystem's mission statement, a statement of guiding principles and specificsystem goals, and a progress chart showing accomplishments and plans from1994 through 2001. A section on achievements focuses on national recognitionand awards received by the system and individual campuses, nationalachievement awards received by system faculty and staff, and outstandingachievements of system students. The final section summarizes currentrevenues and expenditures of the system. (DB)
