The 9.15am service lasts about 45 minutes and the 10.30am service is about 1 hour. During the worship/singing please feel free to sit or stand as you choose. Please feel free to join us for refreshments in the church hall at 10am between the two services. The prayer team will be available after the service. Please take a seat on the front row of seats in church if you would like someone to pray with you. There is no provision for children at the 9.15am service and the 10.30am service is All Age worship so there are no organised children’s groups today. However, the crèche toys are set up in the lounge where is also a TV link to the church. You are welcome to take your child out to the lounge at any point in the service but you will need to stay with them. PRAYER FOR PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS

The Internat ional Day of Prayer for Persecuted Christians this year is Sunday 19th November. In Market Drayton we will be participating in this event with joint prayer sessions between 10am and 1pm on Saturday 18th November. Further details to follow

CALLING ALL KNITTERS Will you help us knit 2000 Christmas Angels to distribute around Market Drayton to advertise ‘Buttercross to Bethlehem’? They are used as a reminder of the real reason we celebrate Christmas. If you can help, patterns are available from Barbara Shingler or Jackie Powis, and completed angels need to be with Barbara Shingler by the end of November. Thank you.

HOLY HABITS The theme for 1st October is B R E A K I N G B R E A D

CHURCH CLEANING MORNING We need your help on Saturday 7th October from 8.30am to help clean the church building. We have no paid cleaner or caretaker and rely heavily on the time that you can generously give to maintain the whole church premises. Please put in your diary and help for an hour or two if you can. Many hands make light work!

HELP NEEDED On the evening of Sunday 29th October, there will be a concert as part of Market Drayton ArtsFest (there will be no usual evening service). Could you help to be a steward/caretaker at the event? We are looking for someone who can ensure that the church is open and locked again at end, and is available for any assistance that is necessary throughout the evening. Please speak to Andy Bradeley or any of the church stewards.

SUNDAY LUNCH CLUB The next lunch will be next Sunday 29th October at The Tudor at 1pm. Please make sure you sign up on the list in the foyer by Sunday 22nd October.

PASTORAL CARE LETTERS Please remember to hand in your ‘Pastoral Care’ preference letters in as soon as possible to your life group leader, a church steward or to Ruth. If you have not received a letter regarding your pastoral care, please speak to Pete Williams or Ruth Jeffries.

BOOK & CAKE STALL There will be a cake/produce stall following the morning service next Sunday, 8th October, with proceeds going to support the puppet ministry. All contributions gratefully received.

MEN’S FELLOWSHIP The Men’s fellowship will next week on Tuesday 3rd October, 7.45pm at MDMC. The speaker will be Rev Paul Clapham.

NEW LIFE GROUP New Life group starting: Inaugural meeting Monday 2nd October, 7.45pm at 7 Annefield Close, home of Graham and Pene Willson. Day and frequency of meeting will be decided according to participant’s wishes. All welcome.

THE SOCIAL HOUR The Social Hour will be meeting at 12.30pm (note different time) on Tuesday 3rd October for a soup lunch. Newcomers always welcome!

CHURCH COUNCIL Please note that the Church Council will meet on Wednesday 11th October, 7.30pm at MDMC.
